For those of you who aren’t aware, Cleetus McFarland is one of the most popular American car YouTubers out there. His channel has amassed, at the time of writing, 2.33 million subscribers and he posts a variety of content, including crazy car builds. What we are showcasing here is one of those builds. This is a Chevrolet Corvette C7 that features a frankly insane 1,039 hp, to be dubbed by Cleetus himself “a ripper.” This car is just simply ridiculous.

C7 Corvette With A Crazy Amount Of Power

This is one crazy modified Corvette, just as crazy as these classics. A Corvette C7 has enough power as it is. But this is the first drive for Cleetus and Jeremy in the Corvette C7 with this insane level of horsepower, something they have been working on themselves. The first thing to note is the sound that this car makes. It is perhaps unlike any other Corvette C7 ever made. It's loud—very loud. That is the one takeaway, just how loud this car is on tick-over and cruising around at perhaps about 30 mph. The guys were wearing earplugs it was so loud!

The car was gently put through its paces. Being a custom build, you are not going to want to put foot to the floor instantly and risk ruining the engine, so a couple of lower speed runs were done before they really gave it the gas. And as you probably expected, when they did give the car the gas, it took off in an instant. We wouldn’t expect anything less from a C7 with over 1000 hp.

There’s Only One Problem: Fuel Slosh

via YouTube

The issue it was having though was that as they headed down the drag strip, the fuel was sloshing around the tank and lurching forward, and then it would suck air through the system—which is not ideal.

There was one issue later in the video with a belt that drives the supercharger coming loose. Luckily, that is not a major job and Cleetus was able to keep the car going. This is such an insane build. Will we see a Corvette this mad again?
