Digital artist @ar.visual_ has added a new rendering to the collection of modified cars on the channel, this time a Volkswagen Golf Mk3 widebody concept that has undergone a Tesla swap. The electric-powered widebody conversion has the hearts of those commenting on Instagram and completely transforms the look and mechanics of the VW.

The car, which features a body kit that transforms the Mk3 hatchback to a widebody design, makes the car look like it is ready to race. Blacked out taillights, a large wing above the hatch, a widebody design, larger tires and extensions to the front and rear ends are just some of the changes made to the car to take it from the Mk3 hatchback that is widely known as, to the conceptual vision that @ar.visual_ had in mind.

Most comments on the post praise the overall design of the Golf Mk3 and the potential it could have as a performance car. The changes drastically change the look of the car and, apparently, what it's powered by as well. The hashtags on the post include #teslaswap and #electronic.

The Mk3 was the third generation of the Volkswagen Golf and sold throughout much of the 1990s. The car took power from various four cylinder gasoline or diesel engines. In this widebody version, the Golf would run on electric power, a conversion from its original power source that could take hold on other historic vehicles as the world continues to embrace EV technologies. Volkswagen has already indicated their plans for a future driven by electric cars, and additionally offer electric cars of their own globally.
