This poor lotto player’s luck just ran out. Dennis Kahler, a Georgia resident, had fortune on his side when he purchased a scratch-off lotto ticket and managed to win a Chevrolet Corvette C8 and $250,000 cash prize—only for his luck to wane when he discovered there isn’t a new Corvette already reserved waiting for him. Of course, C8 Corvettes are all sold out and the hopes of tracking one down any time soon for this lotto winner looks dim.

Corvette Forum reached out to Kahler, who took to Twitter to share his winning scratcher ticket. He claims to have received a letter with the details of his winnings, which includes a Corvette valued at $107,000 along with $250,000. Now, Kahler is trying to work with local dealerships on ponying up his supercar, yet the best offer he’s received so far comes from Master Chevrolet, which can order him one in the third quarter of the year but isn’t guaranteeing a concrete delivery date.

Winner Knows Exactly What Kind Of Corvette He Wants

Potentially simplifying (or complicating) matters further is that the winner knows exactly which C8 Corvette he wants. “I already know what I want, a 2LT,” he said while discussing the matter with Corvette Forum. Kahler has good taste, as the Z51 Rapid Blue is one cool blue shade that looks perfect on the popular supercar.

2020 Corvette A Home Run For Chevrolet

In his tweet, Kahler suggests that the Georgia Lottery assumed dealerships would have C8 Corvettes available on hand. “They just thought I could go straight in and pick out a 21- C8,” he wrote.

The 2020 Corvette is a home run for Chevy, with Corvette Blogger reporting 20,368 units sold for the model year. The car's success isn’t all that surprising considering it’s the first Corvette model to get the mid-engine treatment.

Unfortunately, however, it looks as if the Georgia Lottery didn’t anticipate how popular the new Corvette would be with consumers, and now Kahler is without a Z51 to occupy that empty space in his garage. With lawyers now wading through the legalities, let’s just hope everything gets rectified sooner rather than later, especially long before Chevy releases something bigger and better like an all-electric Corvette SUV.
