All four Elise Classic Heritage Editions are derived from the Elise Sport 220, which means that they are the same mechanically. Nonetheless, Lotus Cars made all Elise Classic Heritage Editions more special and more desirable than a standard Elise Sport 220, thanks to an impressive list of exterior and interior enhancements.

Each Classic Heritage Edition features color schemes especially familiar among Lotus motorsport fans. Meanwhile, the red Classic Heritage Edition with gold-white stripes pay tribute to the Lotus Type 49B that Graham Hill drove in 1968.
