Lately, for some reason, the Mercedes-Maybach has become the celebrity car of choice. Jay-Z owns a Maybach Exelero. Not to be outdone, NBA star John Wall bought a Maybach and then customized it. Heck, even Madonna spent $1.4 million on a Mercedes Maybach, vaulting this vehicle into uber-chic must-have status. And now, joining that elite pack is Ludacris, seen on Sunday in his Maybach on social media.

Don't Come Knockin' When The Maybach's Rockin'

Ludacris must have socked away a lot of loot for this hot Mercedes since he hasn't had a hit in years. So splurging on this model, a 2021 Maybach GLS 600 SUV, must have had the rapper so overjoyed that he couldn't resist posting on Instagram his experience of rocking his shiny toy back and forth.

The dude's laughing his head off behind the wheel amid the convulsions of his GLS. "That's not me doing that, baby!" he yelled. "That's the car doing that!" How and why he's playing havoc with the hydraulics is a subject for another story, perhaps, although one can't ignore the growing wet spot beneath the left rear wheel.

Since a vehicle like this GLS has the sports and entertainment power personalities salivating, it makes sense to supply plenty of that power where it really counts. Hence, this ride for the rich and famous gets its propulsion by a four-liter, twin-turbo V8 engine that cranks out 550 horsepower and 538 pound-feet of torque.

Despite tipping the scales at 5,000 pounds, this all-wheel-drive hybrid can jump from 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. And helping the upper crust get to those lavish events is a state-of-the-art nine-speed automatic.

Suffice to say that whoever buys a GLS will own a piece of history since it's the first SUV ever rolled out by Mercedes-Maybach. And in true Mercedes fashion, it helps to have a luxurious interior with white leather seats and all the glitzy electronic features that its dash can accommodate. Yep, even if Ludacris hasn't had the profile he's enjoyed since the '90s, he still has places to go. Why not do it in style?
