Watch a collection of luxury SUVs try to climb a snow-covered hill in Russia.

Say you’re in the market for a luxury SUV, but you’re in a snow-covered part of the world like Russia. Which luxury SUV do you buy? A Mercedes-AMG G63 with its twin-turbo V8? Do you get the Porsche Cayenne with its 3.0-L turbocharged V6? Or do you go for the Range Rover with its massive 5.0-L V8 engine?

It’s a tough decision, to be sure. Luckily, a group of Russian enthusiasts has decided to take all these SUVs, including a Toyota Prado 150 and an Audi Q7, out into the cold wilderness to see how they do climbing a snow-covered hill.

We have Motor1 to thank for pointing us towards this YouTube video which we’d otherwise never have found because it’s all in Russian. But even though we can’t understand the language, we can still see the results as each SUV is driven up-hill as fast as these guys can put their feet down.

First up is the Porsche Cayenne, which tanks to AWD and a decent amount of horses manage to climb up the hill without effort. Then again, the first run is the easiest as the structural integrity of the hill itself seems to degrade after every run.

The second entrant is the Toyota Prado J150, which is an SUV we don’t see in North America. It seems to have absolutely no trouble cresting the hill with its 4.0-L V6 engine.

Our next entrant into the snow hill climb competition is the Audi Q7. We don’t know which version of the Q7 we’re looking at, which means it could have anything from a 3.0-L turbodiesel to a hybrid powertrain. But whatever it has under the hood, it seems to struggle and get stuck right as it's about the crest the hilltop.

On the second attempt, the Q7 just barely managed to eek its way over the top.

The Mercedes-AMG G 63 goes up next, but after several fishtails, it seems to stall halfway up and then descends back down. We can blame the driver for that one as after swapping the guy behind the wheel, the G 63 manages the ascent without too much difficulty.

In a contest between the Range Rover and Toyota Prado, the Rover takes first place, while a similar competition between the Audi and the G 63 ends in a tie.

Maybe this contest isn’t all that scientific, and therefore not that helpful in selecting an off-road luxury SUV. But you got to see a bunch of SUVs drive up a snow-covered hill, and we call that a win.
