Avoiding a traffic jam by riding on the side of the road is a brazen act. And it is very strange to do this if you have illegal cargo on board. Nevertheless, it was on the ridiculous violation of traffic rules that the drug dealers from the UK burned.

How Did The Events Go?

This story happened on November 5 last year. But only now, when almost all the circumstances of the case were clarified, the West Midlands police posted a video of the pursuit of dealers on YouTube. First, the video filmed by the patrol car records how the BMW i8 dashingly bypasses the traffic jam on the side of the M6 motorway. The officer got surprised and said, "Realy?" After this, he immediately started the pursuit.

Noticing the police car driving behind, the driver pretended he is going to stop the car, but then suddenly changed his mind and rushed away. The hybrid sports car maneuvered dangerously in the traffic, seriously exceeded the speed limit, and zigzagged through the back streets. The police, in turn, did not lag behind.

Then the driver drove onto the lawn and his partner jumped out of the car on the move. Next, he tried to escape on the foot. He was caught nearby while boarding a taxi. And in the backpack, they found five plates of cocaine one kilogram each. The total amount of each was about £500,000 (around $700,000).

What Punishment Did Drug Criminals Receive?

The BMW i8 driver thought that he managed to get rid of the evidence. As a result, he voluntarily slowed down and surrendered to the police. But the trick failed. Over time, both offenders confessed to drug trafficking. And 39-year-old Simon Pagett, who was driving the hybrid coupe, was also driving dangerous, so he got a greater punishment. He was sentenced to seven years in prison, and 40-year-old Dean Stone, who tried to escape by taxi, to six.

In addition, the police are going to check the legitimacy of Pagett's proceeds to find out how the criminal bought a BMW i8 for £100,000 (around $140,000). If it turns out that the money is of illegal origin, the property can be confiscated.
