Ever thought about how a Chevrolet C7 Corvette would sound blasting through at 150mph? While this would be commonplace in the Autobahn, an unnamed C7 Corvette owner decided to test his car’s limits on Route 16 in Rochester, New Hampshire, on Thursday evening.
It’s unclear what the driver’s intention was, but the C7 has a reputation of going from 0-60mph in sub-four seconds—he probably just had a heavy foot. Regardless, the driver was stopped and arrested for his recklessness.

The C7 Corvette makes a whopping 455hp, which is enough to convince fervent drivers that a stop sign is a set of drag strip tree lights. It comes with a seven-speed standard and an automatic eight-speed option. Perhaps the best benefit of owning the Corvette is that it’s extremely quick and handles well.
Route 16 or Spaulding Turnpike is a 149 Mile Stretch
In what may be turning into a trend, last month, another C7 Corvette was impounded in Canada after the driver was caught driving at 150mph.
Route 16 in Rochester, also known as the Spaulding Turnpike, is a 149-mile highway that stretches from North to south through the state's eastern portion. It stretches to Milton from Portsmouth.
Route 16 has a speed limit that ranges between 45 to 65 mph depending on the stretch, switching from one to two lanes on each side on several sections of the road.
Packed with a V8, the C7 Corvette driver was tempted to floor his car past the 45-65mph limit. Unfortunately, Sergeant Johnston of the NHSP Troop E caught wind of the V8 roaring through and took a photo before ending the shindig. According to New Hampshire State Police, it’s not the first time the Corvette driver has been busted for reckless driving.
The C7 Corvette Owner Was Driving After a Suspension
NHSP is charging the unnamed driver with reckless operation as well as operating after a suspension. The driver was stopped and taken into custody on Thursday night.
The C7 Corvette is an American icon for one reason. It’s crazy fast! With a stopping power that can only be equated to stopping on wet cement. Its chassis is ludicrously capable, and its V8 a glorious perfection of American engineering. The Corvette is ideally a supercar, but for a fraction of the price.
“NHSP urges all motorists to remain alert and obey the posted speed limit when behind the wheel.” NHSP updated their Facebook page regarding the bust.
