A man named Shelby Mustang GT 500 has been arrested for driving without a valid license.
There’s so much to unpack in that one sentence it’s difficult to know where to even start. Let’s begin with the irony that a man named after a car doesn’t have a license, and then follow it up with the intensely burning question as to how that name came to be. Did he change it? Were his parents car nuts who just couldn’t bear the thought of their child going through middle school without being teased and bullied by the normal kids?
Or what about the breakdown of the name? Is the first name entirely Shelby Mustang 500? Is it Shelby, then middle name Mustang GT 500? Is it like a Spanish name and they’re all middle names, like Shelby, Mustang, GT, 500, Rodriguez, Esteban, The Third?
The answers to these questions we may never know. But we do know one thing: his last name is Miller. Possibly after the beer.
Shelby Mustang GT 500 Miller, 29, of Arkansas, was arrested last Friday on suspicion of driving with an expired or invalid license, according to local news.
According to the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office, Miller was booked into the Baxter County Detention Center where he was held briefly before being released on a $450 bond. In addition to the driving without a license charge, Miller was also booked for driving without wearing a seatbelt and lacking proof of insurance.
The cops didn’t confirm what kind of car Mr. Shelby Mustang GT500 Miller was driving, but they did say it wasn’t a Mustang.
This also isn’t the first time Miller has made headlines for being arrested. Back in 2014, the Des Moines Register reported that Miller was arrested after he brought a hatchet to a bar brawl.
After getting into an argument, Miller removed his shirt and looked “ready to fight”, but two of Miller’s friends managed to calm him down enough to take him home. One can assume the drinking didn’t stop when he got there since he returned to the bar with a hatchet under his shirt.
Luckily the cops were already there taking statements and after he got fingered by witnesses Miller was arrested.
Miller is due in court on March 8, 2018, for his traffic violation. Would love to be the bailiff that gets to call his name.
