Manhart are one of the very best tuning houses in the world. They specialize in BMWs but have also had a go at modifying Porsches, Audis, Toyotas and even Alfa Romeos. However, it is very much BMW where their specialty lies, and it is of course what they are most famous for. The company has now unveiled its latest creation, the Manhart MHX7 650 G07, based upon the BMW X7 M50i SUV and as you might expect, Manhart have taken the SUV to the next level.

The SUV's Ins And Outs

Manhart get most of their performance gains out of tuning the engine, and they have gone to town on the M50i’s 4.4-liter bi-turbo V8 engine. The engine as standard generates 530 hp and 750 nm of torque, but Manhart have increased that to 650 hp and 678 lbs-ft of torque. This is all done with the installation of their MHtronik auxiliary control unit, as well as the addition of a sports exhaust system with valve control, which has four carbon fiber tailpipes at the end of it. Manhart say that the standard OPFs are now removed from the M50i.

As you might expect, there is an abundance of carbon fiber parts for the Manhart M50i. There is the carbon front spoiler now on the front of the BMW, with what Manhart say are strikingly shaped winglets, and at the back of the car there is an equally striking rear diffuser. Manhart have even changed the housing of the mirrors, which are now made out of carbon. It won’t have escaped your attention that Manhart have the obligatory golden-decal set across the SUV, and the images show this gold stickering across a matt black vinyl background.

Manhart have also accentuated in gold the satin black Manhart Classic Line rims that we see across the SUV. The front of the interlocking Y-spokes also shine in the same color. Those wheel rims are now fitted with XL tires, which Manhart say are, in fact, sized 295/35R23. Manhart say that the SUV is fully equipped with air suspension ex works, and this allows the ground clearance of the SUV, which is now lowered by some 25 mm thanks to new coupling rods.
