When it comes to performance and tuning upgrades, very few places do it better than the legends at Manhart Performance. The German based tuning company is perhaps most famous for its tuning upgrades and cosmetic enhancements on various products regarding BMW cars. But they also dabble in upgrades for other cars, such as the likes of Porsche, Audi and even Tesla has fallen under its remit recently. This latest product though from the Manhart workshop is from the BMW family once again.

Enter the new Manhart MH4 GTR II. This is a creation based upon the BMW M4 of the G82 series, but it is not just based on your standard BMW M4. Manhart say that the new MH4 GTR II uses the special CSL model as its basis, and they also state that the M4 Competition can also get used as the basis for the MH4 GTR II. Manhart has once again extracted extra performance from the BMWs engine, and showered it in plenty of cosmetic and exterior upgrades to give their latest creation the classic Manhart treatment.

Manhart talk us through some of the main details of the regular M4 Competition and CSL. The M4 Competition as standard produces 510 hp while the CSL itself is a little bit better off with 550 hp on hand. Manhart though have changed the game a bit here. Thanks to their MHtronik auxiliary control unit, they have got the 3.0-liter biturbo-charged S58 inline-six engine to produce a staggering 702 hp, a giant increase over what the base models of the respective M4 versions produce from factory.

Manhart has added plenty of their usual upgrades to this BMW M4 too. A Manhart stainless steel exhaust system opens into four 110 mm tailpipes, with the choice of either carbon coating or ceramic coating for these. This is also connected to the MHtronik unit via either Manhart downpipes Race without catalytic converters, or Manhart downpipes Sport with 300-cell GESI catalytic converters. As usual, these are only available for export due to a lack of TUB approval in Germany. Other export options include the Manhart OPF Delete replacements pipes with 200-cell HJS catalytic converters, as well as the Manhart OPF/GPF Deleter.

Big Refinements Alter The M4s Already Dramatic Appearance

The current range of BMW M4s already offer a hugely dramatic appearance. Most of that is down to the highly aggressive front-end with the giant grille, but Manhart has worked hard to refine that somewhat controversial style set. Manhart has lowered their MH4 GTR II, thanks to their suspension optimization which includes new height-adjustable Manhart coil springs by H&R. The suspension upgrades Manhart say also guarantee that their new Forged +1 by Yido Performance forged alloy wheels fit and align perfectly underneath the fenders of the car. The exterior features around 18 different pieces of new bodywork.

Speaking of wheels, these measure 10x20 inches with 275/30 tires at the front, while at the rear they are 11x20 inches with 295/30 tires. Manhart say that the rim color can get individually configured upon request, and in the case of the images on Manhart’s website we can see that Matte Black is the chosen color along with a stunning orange-red accented double spoke on each wheel. These perfectley match the styling of the body of the M4. Manhart has also used a typical finish across the car, with a stunning black across the MH4 GTR OO with typical Manhart decorated trim, in this the orange-red of the wheels.

Manhart aren’t quite finished there though. They have added an 18-piece Manhart carbon kit to the MH4 GTR II to really bolster the appearance of the BMW sports car. This kit includes a hood with sensational GTR air intakes, a spoiler and side aero flicks for the front of the car plus fender side louvers too. On top of that, there are side skirts, two-piece rear side louvers, an impressive diffuser plus a two-piece rear skirt add-on. The bodywork changes are then rounded off with a three-piece rear spoiler.

Inside the MH4 GTR II, Manhart has added a few minor alterations. Manhart floor mats are a feature as are Schroth four-point racing harnesses with the rear attachment points formed by a Clubsport roll bar. Finally, there is a carbon fiber motorsport helmet that comes with the MH4 GTR II, complete for high-speed racing of this epic creation. Manhart always seem to excel themselves with every new creation, and they have done that once again, taking the BMW M4 CSL and the M4 Competition to heights we perhaps never though possible. It is Manhart at their very finest once again, with exterior, interior and performance upgrades aplenty.
