Manhart Performance are one of the best known and most impressive turning houses in the world. Manhart has made a name for itself mostly by upgrading BMWs, but have also worked on cars from the likes of Audi and Porsche. Their signature performance upgrades are well known to many, as are the various exterior and interior changes they bestow upon their cars. Now, they have turned to Japan for their latest product, and taken the sixth-generation Nissan Patrol and really worked their magic with it.

Enter the new Manhart Nissan Patrol, or the Manhart PT 650. Based around the hotter Nismo version of the Patrol, Manhart have taken the Nissan classic and worked hard to really boost both its exterior appeal and its performance. The sixth-generation Patrol has been out for nearly 13 years, so it was perhaps about time someone turned it into a radical, supercharged monster. The Nismo version has been with us since 2015, so it in itself is a bit long in the tooth. This is everything Manhart have done to elevate the Patrol to a whole new level.

Supercharged Performance Unleashes The Potential Of The Patrol Nismo

Under the hood of Manhart’s latest creation is a 5.6-liter V8 engine used in the Patrol Nismo. However, in the standard Nissan sold version, that engine is naturally aspirated. But not anymore. Manhart has managed to slap on a supercharger to the mighty V8 unit. All in, the Patrol now makes 650 hp, hence the PT 650 name for the car. This is a huge increase on the stock model which made 428 hp. The torque levels have gone up too, from 413 lb-ft of torque as stock to the new level of 443 lb-ft of torque.

In terms of how the supercharger has impacted the performance figures of the car, there is no word as yet from Manhart. The standard Patrol Nismo has a 0-62 mph time of 7.3 seconds which is not a lot, but given the car weighs in at 5,875 lbs it is not bad in that sense. That will no doubt come down with this extra grunt from the Manhart supercharger. Manhart have also added a custom exhaust to their creation, which will go on to add a much more aggressive soundtrack to the 5.6-liter V8 engine, especially with the supercharging.

Manhart are not exactly subtle when it comes to exterior modifications. Their signature styling includes black and gold with stripes across their cars and other parts like the diffuser or wheels in that color. That black and gold theme very much continues on the Nismo Patrol PT 650. The whole exterior carries that trademark livery, with the main color of course being a gloss black. Across the top of the windshield, Manhart lettering in written in black and lined out in gold.

The rest of the bodywork features plenty of gold. The front lip is in gold as are the outlines of the vents below the headlights. The grille features gold outlining, while gold highlights run across the bottom of the car and all the way around the back, around the diffuser and across its stakes. Gold also runs across the bottom of the doors and across the hood, over the roof and down the back of the car. The parts that stand out the most though are the wheels, fully gold, and they really allow the Nismo Patrol to pop right out at us. This gold and black theme also continues on the inside.

The Outlandish Styling Continues Within The Nismo Patrol

Step inside the Patrol and that black and gold is again present. Manhart has tried to really spruce up the rather aging interior of the Patrol, with fancy leather and Alcantara a particular highlight. The gold runs across the seats of the car and around the center console. But when we look at this interior compared to more modern SUVs and vehicles of a similar size, it is beginning to look rather dated. But Manhart has tried hard to make it a more exciting and lively place to be.

Injecting New Life Into The Sixth-Generation Patrol

This generation of the Nissan Patrol is certainly in dire need of an update, or outright replacement. But Manhart has done an incredible job in injecting a bit of new life into an otherwise rather stale creation. The tuning firm has ensured its engine is now much, much more lively than before, and those exterior changes certainly help it to stand out from a regular Patrol. Extravagant is certainly the most appropriate word for what Manhart has done here, and you can’t fail to be very impressed by what they have done. There is life yet then in the sixth-generation Nissan Patrol.
