Marc Philipp Gemballa has founded a new company that aims to deliver a new supercar set for launch later in 2021. The company, named after Marc, is to produce a rally-ready Porsche 911 that is based on the latest 992-gen 911 Turbo S. The best bit of this is that Gemballa is partnering up with Ruf to create the rally ready machine, and Ruf is of course famous for their Porsche creations. The car will be known for now as Project Sandbox.

Teasers Reveal Some Detail Of The Ruf Paternership Creation

Marc Philipp Gemballa is the son of Uwe Gemballa, and his new company is to produce just 40 of these ultra-exclusive cars. Apart from what we know of the car's baseline, details of the project are still very scarce. Gemballa has posted plenty of teaser images on Instagram and their website.

Uwe Gemballa was a famous Porsche specialist, and this is very much to be created in his honor, ten years after his passing. Marc himself has worked for various sports car manufacturers such as Aston Martin, Porsche, and Mercedes.

911 Turbo S Gives Us Some Performance Clues

via Marc Phillipp Gemballa

The performance of the 911 Turbo S can perhaps give us some indications as to what to expect from the Gemballa Ruf Porsche. The Turbo S is powered by a 3.7-liter flat-six engine, and in the conventional form, it creates 640 hp. Ruf, though, will be able to get more power out of that engine with it potentially producing up to 100 hp more. Despite the lack of details on the actual performance, the teaser images and renders do at least give us a clue as to the styling of the upcoming car.

Design Inspiration Comes From The Porsche 959

A lot of the design has been inspired by the Porsche 959, which is certainly evident from the style of the rear wing across the whole of the car's rear, which also flows right into the rear bodywork. The images provided only give us a look at the car from the rear directly, and at an angle. We are clearly going to have to wait a little while longer before getting a full look at Project Sandbox.
