There are many well-known rides in the luxury car world. Some of them are fast, some of them are more known for their style, but then some options truly combine both speed and luxury like rarely before.

One of those world-famous automakers is Maserati. The Italian company got its start in 1914 when it was founded by four brothers. As you probably guessed, Maserati was their family name. Much later in 1993, Maserati was bought by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The latest change of ownership involved Stellantis buying the company in 2021.

Despite a strong lineup of cars, the company has struggled to truly gain its footing. In fact, according to Business Insider, one of their rides had the highest depreciation of any car included on their list for the years of 2014 to 2019. Of course, it’s been a couple of years, but with the state of the world, we doubt this has been turned around.

With that aside, one of their strongest options is the Levante. It was debuted that the Geneva Motor Show in March of 2016. The iconic ride was then shown at the New York Auto show before going on sale in the United States in April of that year. The car started its sales run in Canada in September of that year.

Since this is considered one of their best cars, we wanted to take a look at what the 2017 Maserati Levante costs today. We’ll also take a look at a few of the specs that made this first edition so special.

According to Kelly Blue Book, the 2017 Maserati Levante is valued at an average of $43,255. Of course, this means you will find options for both below and above this amount, but this is typically what the car would cost.

This seems to be accurate based on a brief browse through the website autotrader. There were a few options priced over the average cost for a 2017 Maserati Levante, but they were all within the $10k range in terms of the price difference.

This amount might sound like a lot for a used car, but remember, this is Maserati. They may not be the most important luxury car maker out there, but they make great rides, and this is one of them. Also, most of the options listed have pretty low miles on the odometer. Of course, this is typical of luxury cars, especially to this level. This is because most owners of these cars use them for special occasions and not for their everyday driver.

Since we mentioned the depreciation of some Maserati models, it is important to point out the original price of the 2017 Levante. Upon release, the base model was priced at $72,000 plus delivery costs. The more advanced S trim would go for $83,000. People loved the S version because it added about 75 horsepower and 63 more lb-ft of torque.

According to caredge, a Maserati Levante can be expected to lose about 54% of its value after five years. Of course, these are educated guesses based on market trends. Despite this, the Levante is still a favorite among Maserati fans.

When it comes to fuel economy, don’t expect greatness. After all, you don’t buy a luxury vehicle because you want great gas mileage. As expected, this SUV uses premium unleaded fuel. If you’re driving in the city, you can expect about 14 miles per gallon of fuel usage. On the highway, that amount goes up to 20, which is still not great. The fuel tank itself holds 21.1 gallons of gasoline.

If you’re looking for a fast SUV regardless of cost, this is the one for you. US News reports that the 2017 Levante can go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in only 5.8 seconds. It has a top speed of 156 miles per hour. The S trim does the 0 to 60 miles per hour test in .8 seconds less and has a top speed of 164 miles per hour.

Maserati is one of the fastest-growing luxury car makers on the market, despite some of their cars not being the best at retaining their value. They make some truly sweet rides. The thing is, it often takes quite a while for these Luxury car companies to reach their full potential. Yes, they have been in existence since the early 1900s, but it seems they still have more to achieve.
