The latest from Maserati has arrived, and it’s electrifying. After more than a year of hype, Maserati has finally revealed its new Grecale SUV to the world.Maserati’s 2022 SUV breaks the norm, as it will be available with an internal combustion engine, hybrid systems and an all-electric drive.

Maserati Grecale: A Range Within A Range

The new Maserati Grecale promises to be “The Everyday Exceptional.” Four versions, three of which will arrive at launch, exemplify this battle cry.

The Grecale GT features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild hybrid system that could deliver 296 hp of output and 331 lb-ft of torque. The Grecale Modena also features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mild hybrid system, but offers 325 hp of output and 331 lb-ft of torque.

Meanwhile, the performance-laden Grecale Trofeo tops the at-launch lineup with its Nettuno-based 3.0-liter V6 engine generating 523 hp of output and 457 lb-ft of torque. The powerful SUV could sprint from nil to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds, or to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds. It can also go as fast as 177 mph.

The all-electric Grecale Folgore will join the lineup a year later, laden with a 105 kW/h battery using 400V technology. Offering up to 590 lb-ft of torque, the Folgore version of the Grecale will be the first full-electric SUV in Maserati history.

Different Character For Each Grecale Version

Each Grecale version has unique elements on top of common features and details. Even their dimensions and weight differ. For instance, the Trofeo is the longest and yet has the least height. The GT, meanwhile, is the tallest among the three. There are yet no details for the Folgore version.

Common features include the low and imposing grille, a highly fluid body, carbon fiber elements as well as the boomerang taillights that take inspiration from the Maserati Giugiaro 3200 GT.

An Interior With A Clean, Modern Design

Inside, the Grecale takes inspiration from the concept of a clean, modern and emotive design while leveraging heritage and new technology. For instance, the cabin employs prestigious materials for various surfaces, while featuring unique graphics and colors.

The Grecale comes with four screens: a 12.3-inch classic instrument cluster, a central 12.3-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch comfort touchscreen, and the new digital clock. This setup removes the buttons from the central panel, allowing the Grecale to offer more cabin space.

Maserati enhanced the in-car experience with the Sonus Faber 3D sound system. This system includes 14 speakers on Premium level, or 21 speakers on demand at High Premium level.
