Maserati pumps out some of the best and fastest cars in the racing world. However, the company has branched out in more recent years to produce cars and SUVs appropriate for other purposes, as daily drivers, and even as family rides. One such offering, the Maserati Levante mid-size luxury crossover SUV reviewed by Jared Solomon of Hotcars in its 2022 iteration, is showing that Maserati can bring luxury as expertly as they bring speed to their designs.

Unmistakably beautiful, the Levante is exceedingly elegant, especially for an SUV. That elegance continues to the interior, which is full of top-of-the-line materials and premium features. Every detail is of the highest craftsmanship and helps to make the Levante suitable for even the longest trips. The classic Italian feel of the Maserati line is strong within the interior of the Levante and many of the elements within are customizable as well.

Even the technology within the vehicle is top-notch, as are the safety measures. The comprehensive technologies include driver assist, air quality sensors, and multi-system connectivity, among others. The SUV screams “Maserati” from all angles.

Let’s take a peek inside the luxurious Maserati Levante!

According to the maker, the Levante is the “Maserati of SUVs” and they have designed the interior as a reflection of the high-class Italian style that the company is well-known for alongside the family-oriented comforts so many desire. With a bisection of trim, the majority of the interior boasts a covering of lush leather and this is especially true over all major touchpoints of the SUV. The seats, dashboard, and steering wheel are all covered in leather at even the base level.

The leather is customizable and varies based on trim level, however, it is available in Premium fine grain, Premium fine grain perforated, Pelletessuta, or Pieno Fiore Natural leather. All options come with contrasting stitching and, in some trims, are even available with silk contrast stitching to up the luxury even further. With a variety of colors available as well, there is sure to be an option to suit nearly any taste.

The seats are also quite spacious, and the SUV has five seats that are incredibly comfortable and supportive, especially in the front. The rear seat is ample, but not quite as spacious as those offered by some competitors. Heated front seats also come standard on the Levante, complete with trident-embroidery (or embossed) emblems. Further optional upgrades include ventilation, heated rear seats, memory settings in the front seats, power soft-close doors, power-adjustable pedals, sport seats, bespoke leather upgrades, power rear-window sunshades, and a heated wooden steering wheel.

The Maserati site also offers a new program, the “Fuoriserie,” which allows for incredible customization and bespoke personalization to any Maserati. This extends to the Levante and allows for the ultimate creative experience to result in the exact desired results. Add-ons are available through the system to build in upgrades like four-zone climate controls, carbon fiber column-mounted paddle shifters, roof rails, and more.

Technology And Other Features Of The Maserati Levante

The Levante is not slacking in the technological or feature areas either. Embedded in the center of the dashboard is a large touchscreen multimedia system. The 8.4-inch system works with the Maserati Connect App to give ultimate connectivity and control and pairs with an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system or Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system for premium sound. The infotainment system is also compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and includes embedded navigation.

According to Maserati, Over The Air real-time updates and dedicated support in emergencies is also part of the package, as is the Maserati Intelligent Assistant (MIA) which comes pre-installed on the frameless touchscreen and helps to guide users to a fully customized experience through an incredibly intuitive operating system. The SUV’s instrument cluster is bold and includes a multi-function display in the middle to further provide information to the driver.

Additionally, the luxury SUV comes equipped with a comprehensive range of Level 2 Advanced Driving Assistance Systems, including Active Driver Assist, according to Maserati. This assistance is a partial automation that allows the vehicle to control steering and acceleration but does still require a human driver to monitor all tasks and remain prepared to take control at any time.

Another quality control feature implemented in the Levante is the air quality sensor, which prevents issues with polluted air or harmful gasses. The system detects and prevents low-quality air from entering the cabin to improve the overall comfort of all those inside. Other great features include a remote engine start to allow for locked starting to ensure the comfort of the cabin environment before entering and a whole host of other add-on options for comfort such as heated windshield washer nozzles and more.

Overall, the Levante stays true to the Maserati name despite being an SUV rather than the luxury cars that generally immediately come to mind when faced with the brand name. By including bespoke aesthetic options as well as a plethora of optional upgrades to comfort features, Maserati created an incredibly luxurious SUV that is great at base, but potentially even better when custom-built to your desired specifications.
