Depending on what you drive, choosing a garage to work on you're car typically isn't that hard. For the most part, its just a matter of either asking a friend or doing a quick search on the good ol' Google Machine. And if you're more particular or still have a factory warranty, you're choices are even more narrowed down as you'd just take it to the dealership. However, what if you just bought something like an old vintage Ferrari? Something like that requires a special person who truly understands these cars, and that is exactly the type of person Matt Farah has found to restore his 1986 Ferrari 328 GTS.

Like A Good Neighbor, Donnie Callaway Is There

Working on a vintage sports car like Matt's Ferrari typically requires skills that can only be acquired from experience. Sure, there's service manuals and loads of information in these weird old things called books, but those books don't cover everything you need to know in order to restore the car to it original glory. Restoring a car also takes a meticulous mindset that, unfortunately most people today don't have.

That's where people like Donnie Callaway come in. Donnie is a go-to guy for vintage Italian sports cars, he has over 30 years of experience working on cars like the 328 GTS and he knows them like the back of his hand. He has dedicated his life to these cars, and has a whole shop filled with factory new-old-stock parts to restore them back to showroom quality.

Matt Farah's Ferrari Is Far From Sorted

After getting a full paint correction from his detail guy at his garage, Westside Collector Car Storage, Matt's 328 GTS may look absolutely mint, but underneath it is clearly a different story. Donnie goes over a few of the things he found with Matt's Ferrari, and within the first five minutes of the video, you can see exactly why Matt chose to take the 328 to him.

Matt mentions that when he first brought the Ferrari to Donnie, he had made a list of things he wanted fixed or checked out. And within about 10 minutes of looking over the car, Donnie had found a list of his own all of things that Matt didn't even consider. He has since completely gone through the car, tearing into the gearbox, the engine, redoing pretty much the whole fuel system, and correcting a few previously MacGyvered "repairs" that other not-so-qualified people have tried.

In general though, despite all the things that are wrong with Matt's Ferrari, it could definitely be a whole lot worse. Luckily for Matt, the car is in very good hands.
