Hot on the heels of the Tesla Cybertruck remote-control car debut, Mattel looks to be maneuvering yet another pop culture icon into place for its Hot Wheels lineup of automotive toys. With the tenth installment of the Fast and Furious film franchise set for release on May 21, 2020, and a Netflix animated series, Fast and Furious Spy Racers, having earned some coverage in 2019, Hot Wheels now includes another set of cars inspired by the series.

Of course, as the Fast and Furious franchise has grown increasingly international, leaving the tuning and modding crowd of Los Angeles behind in favor of complex plotlines and globally manufactured supercars, at the very least, the movies do include some great car chases to keep fans hooked. The Hot Wheels collection seems to capitalize on both new additions to the franchise, as well as stalwart favorites—like Dom's muscle cars and Brian's early Skyline GT-R. The lineup includes five-packs, as seen above, plus single cars, a transforming car hauler, and even a dragster-inspired launch pad for kids of all ages (from three on up, that is) to enjoy as they visualize their favorite scenes from the franchise.

Car and Driver reports the toys will start being released in spring of 2020, though more will hit markets in the fall as part of the Hot Wheels Screen Time mini collection, each of which will cost only $1.09 as opposed to the $5.49 per car for earlier releases. Specific models from the movies set for Hot Wheels reproduction include a 1967 Ford Mustang, a 1970 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro, a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The later releases include a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, an S15 Nissan Silvia, an S14 Nissan 240SX, a Honda Civic EG hatchback, the FD Mazda RX-7 from 2 Fast 2 Furious, and a Subaru WRX STI. An additional set of Hot Wheels Premium Collection diecasts will highlight the Skyline, a Ford Escort, the Silvias from Tokyo Drift, and a Lamborghini Huracan Performante.
