Of all the popular JDM cars, the RX-7 gets a good deal of attention when it comes to modding and tuning – just like the Nissan Skyline and Toyota Supra, it stole the hearts of many when it came out in its third generation in 1991.

The Kyza’s (Khyzyl Saleem) social media account revealed an awesome render of a highly modified and slammed Mazda RX-7, which previews a proposed body kit for the sports car. Let’s have a closer look at the renders to see what’s going on with this concept art and why it’s a good look for the Japanese model.

The Kyza RX-7 Is A Mad, Bad Modded Mazda

The render we’re looking at is one of the more extreme concepts by the artist who has in the past published many others including a Tesla Hypercar, a Corvette C8 Z06 and another Corvette, a C3 plus many more.

This time the gorgeous red color and white wheels seem to work well, there is a front and rear splitter, a subtle rear lip at the back of the car instead of a big rear wing, and it's low – very low.

It looks as though it has air intakes in front of the wheels on both ends for airflow and brake cooling plus those side skirts for aerodynamics.

There are disc brakes with ventilation on all four corners, another roof-mounted mini spoiler at the back and the classic pop-up headlamps remain present and correct – interestingly the lower aero kit like the splitters and skirts are carbon fiber which really gives it a modern and lightweight look.

The tires look to be Pirellis and seem to be slick, but the light isn’t clear enough to tell.

Kyza’s car is low enough to go racing at Laguna Seca Raceway, but the wheel arches would need to change to better accommodate the rims and tires for steering and suspension travel – although if the car has pneumatic suspension, it might be able to lift and drop when necessary.

Judging by the different angles and views of the car in this post by Khyzyl it looks like a very well-resolved concept and we’re like two aspects: both the amazing color and the fact that the artist avoids putting a huge rear wing, instead opting for a more classic sedan-style rear which works well.

All that remains is to ponder what is under the hood of this concept, would it be the twin-turbo 1.3-liter Wankel motor or something more conventional (and powerful)?

Stay tuned for more from this artist with a penchant for talking already nice-looking cars and breathing into them a new lease of life.
