Every now and again, the internet becomes swamped with traffic, especially after the announcement of futuristic concepts and impending supercars. We’re always eager to check out the next biggest design, and take a glance into what the future of the automotive industry will look like. One artist showed the world a digitally rendered Mazda RX-7 on the hycade YouTube channel.
The talented artist hycade creates cool car concepts. They have a lot of fantastic renders that have gained thousands of hits on YouTube. In their older videos, they showcased an Audi RS6, BMW M4 2018, Dodge Challenger Demon, Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, and Ford Mustang. And there are countless more. One render that stands out is this widebody Mazda RX-7.
This rendered JDM is a fine work of art. We appreciate the realism and high level of detail in this render. You can immediately tell that a lot of work went into bringing this RX-7 into a final product. “It took me 3 days to finish 90% of the car but the last 10% ...a whole week!” the artist wrote. The Widebody RX-7 is one of Hycade’s greatest creations.

This Mazda RX-7 Wears A Sleek Shape
The rendered RX-7 takes on the shape of the Type RB (FD3S) but gets a much lower stance. Its stance looks twice as low as Type RB, and three times as low as the third-generation Spirit R model. The front gets twin ‘capsule-shaped” headlights. These are much smaller than the Type RB headlights, and from the render, consist of advanced LED technology. The fascia also gets a large grille in the center and vents on both ends, which span to the front wheel arcs. The air that enters these vents would, from the render, exit via the outlet on the opposite side of the wheel arcs. Above the sleek vents is yet a sleeker hood, which has a curved-in front end, contributing to the aerodynamic design.
The well-designed door complements the smooth roof of the RX-7, enhancing its aerodynamic side profile, down to the rear end. Speaking of which, the rear of this rendered RX-7 gets an outstanding look that complements the cool front end.
Additionally, there are a couple of things to point out. First, the rear still pays homage to the RX-7 line, with its black curved rear touch-up (right above the Mazda logo), which houses the taillights. The wing is larger than ever, which, in theory, would generate much more downforce. The taillights are much smaller. They take on a futuristic appearance and are completely alien to the RX-7 generations. The rear end also gets more air outlets – up to three on each end. The exhaust is slightly bigger and blends right into the design. It never gets sportier than this.
The Render Could Potentially Have An Awesome Performance
We didn’t get more details on the powertrain. But, everything on this render suggests that it would inherit a front mid-engine - the same configuration as its predecessors. It would also take on the FD platform.
The possibilities of the power output from the gas-powered engine are endless. It would likely get a stronger version of the RX-7’s 252 hp engine, from the touring X model. Or, the 275-hp counterpart from the Type R Bathurst. The maximum output could be 350+ horses. When you combine that to its aero dynamism, the RX-7 would compete with the likes of Porsche Carreras, the legendary Ferrari Pista, and other sporty counterparts. Or perhaps it could take a full-on electric approach or a hybrid, to deliver the best of both worlds.
