If you haven’t heard of SWAE before, then you are not alone. They are a new aftermarket company based in Montana and have yet to release their first product. Until now that is. You might hear more of them in the not-too-distant future, as the company has revealed its McLaren 720S SWAE Widebody, with a vast array of carbon fiber additions. But Widebody enhancements are not the only thing the company has done as they look to grab more performance from the McLaren. So, how do you improve what is already considered one of the world's best supercars?

Comprehensive Tuning Boosts The McLaren Performance

via SWAE

SWAE has added quite a comprehensive performance tune to the McLaren, to boost the output of the car's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine. These lightweight carbon fiber elements help to save weight, and with the tuning done the 720S produces 900 hp, up from the 698 hp as standard. But what of those exterior features? Well, the SWAE 720S has very distinctive 10-spoke wheels, incorporating the company’s logo to show off their work. Titanium wing supports are fixed to the car, which is 3D printed and the first ones of their kind to be created in such a way.

Distinctive Pattern Goes Across The Car In A Diagonal Sweep

via SWAE

What SWAE has tried to do is create a pattern that goes across the whole of the vehicle. Look closely, and you will see the carbon fiber creates a diagonal pattern across the majority of the McLaren’s exterior which plays quite a trick on your eyes. It deceives you into thinking the car is actually moving when quite clearly in these images it is standing perfectly still. This is a very unique pattern and one seldom seen on any other cars, stock, and aftermarket.

3D Printing Plays A Big Role In This Package

via SWAE

We mentioned the 3D printed wing supports. 3D printing actually plays a major role in how this car is created. This has been a proof of concept by SWAE to determine how 3D printing works on such a car and to test the bleeding edge capabilities of the hardware and software. SWAE has worked with their partners, aftermarket tuning specialists 1016 Industries, to create this widebody kit which, finished in a dark grey with the carbon fiber adding a two-tone style, provides a stealthy and unique finish not yet seen on any McLaren 720S.
