Who doesn't love a good drag race?! I know I enjoy seeing two cars going up against each other and finding out which one has the better combination of parts to get it down the strip faster. But this latest trailer from the upcoming season of "Top Gear" sure takes the cake. It appears that we'll be treated to a straight up race between a McLaren Speedtail hypercar and a Lockheed-Martin F-35 fighter jet! I know it sounds pretty bizarre and it really has no practical value whatsoever but that doesn't make it any less entertaining! Let's take a look.

An F-35 Vs. A McLaren, Really?

The McLaren Speedtail is a limited production hybrid hypercar with a 4 liter twin turbo V-8 and integrated hybrid system cranking out in excess of 1,000 hp through a 7 speed dual clutch transmission to the rear wheels. It has a top speed of 250 mph and is in production right now with about 100 units slated to be made. The Lockheed-Martin F-35 fighter jet is a multi role combat aircraft made in three variations for pure air combat, naval use and as a jump jet. It's fitted with a single Pratt and Whitney F135 engine and can supercruise above Mach 1.

And The Winner Is ...

Does it really even matter? The trailer doesn't reveal much other than a few glimpses of the two going at it but if you stack them up together from a dead stop I'd say the McLaren gets the win off the line with the F-35 burying it in top end speed.
