McLaren has released the first teaser image for an upcoming Ultimate Series roadster, and it looks pretty sweet.

The latest McLaren to arrive as part of their Track25 Business Plan will be something truly impressive. We rarely see McLaren add to their Ultimate Series vehicles, but when they do, the vehicle they create is something to behold.

Teased on McLaren’s website on Friday is their latest car, which so far doesn’t have a name but does have a design. It will be a roadster, and we’ll get our first good look at this car at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance this Sunday.

As you can see from the teaser image, McLaren's rendering reveals a classic roadster with strong, muscular arches and a mid-engine design judging by the enormous spoiler in the nose. There's no roof to speak of, and since the car is built using McLaren's trademark carbon fiber body and chassis, this will be the lightest car ever made by the British supercar maker.

Under the rear engine cover will be a modified version of the McLaren Senna's 4.0-L twin-turbo V8. They didn't mention how much power the engine will make, but if it's anything like the Senna, we can expect close to 800 horsepower and around 600 lb-ft of torque.

We can probably expect to see McLaren's 7-speed DCT driving power to the rear wheels, but we'll have to wait for confirmation on that one.

Pricing is also a question. McLaren said their new roadster would be priced somewhere between the Senna and the Speedtail, which means we could be looking at anywhere between $800,000 to $2.25 million.

Luckily, we won't have to wait long for more info. The Concours d'Elegance takes place August 18th where we should get a good look at this beast. McLaren's roadster will arrive in production form sometime in 2020, with 399 examples to be made.

McLaren will "taking expressions of interest from current customers" this weekend.
