The McLaren Artura hybrid is the most radical McLaren supercar in quite a few years, as the company really went to town on ensuring the new car was very different from what had gone before it. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 and 670 hp car is truly stunning, and McLaren are still keen to show the car off. The British automaker has now unveiled a special Artura art car, created in collaboration with British artist Nat Bowen, and it is to be on display at the ME Dubai until March 31, 2022.

The car is officially called the Artura Art Car, and it is a regional collaboration with Nat Bowen. Bowen is an abstract artist and most famous for her vibrant and colorful pieces. The special Artura very much features her signature styling, and is part of an exhibition of hers taking place at the ME Dubai hotel from February 24 to 31 March. The Artura has an incredibly vibrant livery to it now, with all sorts of colors popping out at us in a highly abstract pattern, indicative of the style that Bowen is famous for.

McLaren says that the creative study behind the car explores the use of Chromology. This, they say, represents the psychology behind color, plus the themes of the car which are art and future. These are themes that have inspired the hybrid supercar. That exterior finish has translucent resin pigments. These pigments adapt to the light that the car is in, and reflect and absorb the surroundings, the result of which is that the car becomes an integral part of whatever space it is inhabiting.

It’s a truly fantastic piece of artwork.

Bowen was full of excitement for this collaboration with McLaren. She said that “It has been an honor to work with McLaren Automotive on this exciting concept and display it as part of my first solo exhibition in Dubai.” She went on to say that “My goal was to provide a truly immersive experience and transport the visitors into a meditative state away from everyday distraction, as well as allow them to further explore and develop their relationship with color”. This incredible art car is certainly one way to take the incredible looking Artura to the next level.
