When Ford introduced the Mustang Mach-e earlier this year, many Mustang fans were disappointed at Ford for using the Mustang name on a crossover. If you're one of those, or you simply just like cool resto-mods and coach-built cars, Aviar Motors, a Russian company, is building the R67, a vehicle with first-generation Mustang Fastback looks but with Tesla Model S bones and performance numbers. Let's take a look at this EV-powered 'Stang that would make even Czar Nicholas proud.

Updating An Icon

Aleksey Rachev, founder of Aviar, decided to mix modern technology with the spirit of the legendary cars of the '60s. The first-generation Mustang, being one of the most beautiful and recognizable American cars ever made, was perfect for the job.

Outstanding Performance

The Tesla Model S packs a 100kwh battery pack, an electric motor on each axle, and an output of 840 horsepower which was perfect for the light-weight carbon fiber replica body of the Mustang. Those two things combined made the Aviar R67 capable of reaching a top speed of 155 mph and a 0-62 mph time of just 2.2 seconds (which is even faster than the Model S). For those who want to feel the roar, the vehicle will come with an external sound system that can simulate classic V8 engine sounds.

Improved Looks

On the exterior, some things set it apart from the original Mustang. Aviar focused on small details to update the Mustang's look in a sober and classy way. It features new LED headlights, a glass roof, invisible door handles (just like the ones on the model S), and a retractable spoiler that automatically extends when the speed hits 75 mph and lowers at 50 mph.

Moving into the interior, you'll find a mix between the original 1967 Mustang and a Tesla Model S with Mercedes air vents, lots of leather, and of course, lots of screens and LED ambience lights. There's no official pricing for this vehicle yet, but it certainly won't be cheap.
