AMG was originally a company that specializes in evolving Mercedes-Benz vehicles into performance machines. Now makers of Mercedes' hot sports cars, AMG is already 55 years old and recently introduced a special G-Class model to celebrate the milestone. Now, AMG is extending the “Edition 55” anniversary badge to the smallest Mercedes models – the A-Class and CLA-Class.
High-Gloss Black Elements Dominate The Exterior
Aside from the already announced AMG G53 Edition 55, these four new models will enter the luxury vehicle market to celebrate AMG’s newest milestone. They include the A 35 4MATIC Edition 55 compact sedan, A 35 4MATIC Edition 55 sedan, CLA 35 4MATIC Edition 55 coupé, and CLA 35 4MATIC Edition 55 shooting brake.
Distinguishing these models are unique high-gloss black elements that include a front apron with enlarged front splitter and extra flics; a fixed AMG rear wing; side spoiler lips; and the Blade diffuser. They also don the AMG Night Package and the AMG Night Package II, with various elements in high-gloss black, tailpipe trims in black chrome, and heat-insulating dark tinted glass.
Available in either cosmos black metallic or digital white metallic, the new compact Edition 55 models feature the traditional AMG emblem and rhombus. They ride on 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels in matte titanium gray finish with a high-sheen rim flange. The models also feature an AMG fuel filler cap in silver chrome with AMG lettering.
Black-And-Red Theme Inside The Cabin
Meanwhile, the cabin of these Edition 55 compact models features a striking black-and-red contrast, with two-tone classic red/black leather wrapping the AMG Performance seats. The models also come with AMG Performance steering wheel (in DINAMICA microfiber) with "Edition 55" badge and black 12 o'clock marking.
The Edition 55 compact models also feature AMG door sill panels with red illuminated AMG lettering, as well as black AMG velour floor mats with red contrasting stitching and "Edition 55" red lettering. The cabin also features AMG brushed aluminum trim elements in the dark "Edition 55" design, with various accents in black-and-red and the AMG logo.
Customized AMG Indoor Car Cover Included
Upon delivery of their A and CLA-Class Edition 55 models, customers will also receive a customized AMG Indoor Car Cover in black with silver-colored AMG logo on the upper edge of the windshield. This car cover features breathable outer paneling made from tear-resistant synthetic fiber fabric and antistatic inner fabric made from flannel.
Interested customers can now order the "Edition 55" equipment package for the compact class models.
