A new video by Tim on his @Schmee150 YouTube channel shows that putting two blisteringly fast but very different Mercedes-Benz AMG supercars in a drag race is extremely entertaining but also very informative.

Joining in the fun is Jordan from @TheTripleFCollection and his ridiculous Mercedes-AMG E63 S making upwards of 1000 hp. Tim breaks down the mods that allow such monster power from Jordan's daily driver while also outlining the details of his own 850-hp Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.

After drooling over the engine bays of both cars, they go head-to-head in a 1/4 mile drag race. They do 3 races from a dig and 3 races from a rolling 40 mph start. Two very different types of challenges that reward different characteristics of a car.

Under The Hood: Mercedes-AMG E63 S and Mercedes-AMG GT BS

Tim's Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series has the R850 package from German company Opus installed with sports cats and a tune that takes the 4-0-liter twin-turbo V8 up to 850 hp from the stock 730 hp. He's also swapped the original tires out for Michelin Cup 2s. With RWD and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission mated to the front-mid engine, this AMG GT BS is absolutely track-ready.

Jordan's Mercedes-AMG E63 S also has a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and sports a full twin-turbo upgrade package from RENNtech bringing power up to a stunning 1000 hp: up almost 400 hp from stock.

The package includes upgraded turbos, coolers, and software. The 9-speed automatic transmission with 4Matic rounds out the veritable weapon of a vehicle, especially impressive considering it can fit 4 grown adults comfortably inside.

The first of the 3 drag races from a stand-still instantly shows the AMG GT BS struggles for grip from its RWD configuration compared to Jordan's E63 S 4Matic AWD setup. Adding insult to injury, the next 2 races give the same result: the E63 S easily outclasses the GT BS from a dig.

The next 3 rolling start races are a whole different story. The lighter weight of Tim's GT Black Series with track-inspired aerodynamics and rear spoiler gives it a clear advantage over the E63 S. So much so that even when Tim misses a shift completely, he still wins to the line. The AMG GT BS is an absolute missile above 100 mph whereas the AMG E63 S simply can't compete.

Tim explains the differences between the two cars. The AMG GT BS is made for higher racing speed performance while the AMG E63 S can launch from stop lights like it's on the drag strip. Both are absolute weapons, just in different ways.
