Art cars aren’t perhaps a sight as common now as they used to be, but they are still very cool. They allow manufacturers to put some truly exotic designs on cars you would not normally think of.

Mercedes-Benz look like they now want in on the art car act. They have announced that they are partnering up with British skateboard and street wear brand Palace, to create four Palace Skateboards art cars inspired by the locations of the four Palace stores.

Four Incredible Looking Cars

The store locations Palace have are in New York, Tokyo, Los Angeles and London. The four cars that Mercedes chose for this art car presentation are the Mercedes-AMG A 45 S, the SL 63 4MATIC, the AMG GT 63 and the AMG G 63.

All four of these cars now have Palace Editions as one-off special editions. And each of them has an art scheme akin to the location of the store. The AMG A 45 for example has the “Tiger London” paint scheme, with a huge tiger's head on the hood of the car, while the main exterior color is a shimmering red-blue combination.

Inside is a matching interior and the car pays homage to the UK custom car scene from the 1960s to the 1980s.

The Other Art Cars In Detail

The other art cars are all equally stunning. The AMG GT 63 is in a very outlandish “Neon Fade New York” paint scheme. From the front it is pretty much all black but as you walk around you see that fade into the stunning neon green, representing the bright lights and busy streets of New York City and the interior again mimics that of the exterior. The interior also has matching seats in the exterior color.

Meanwhile, the G63, or G-Wagen, Palace Edition is in the “Space Horse Tokyo” livery and is perhaps the most subtle of them all.

A Subtle Design For The G-Wagen

The G-Wagen has an image of a charging horse on both sides, and has a backdrop of stars behind it. According to Mercedes, this pays homage to the sci-fi and fantasy culture in Tokyo. The white/blue exterior is incredibly classy and the subtlety of it is quite satisfying. The least subtle though has to be the SL 63 4MATIC livery though, which is “Sunset LA.”

This car is truly stunning in its shifting yellow-orange livery, although it does not shout out too as much as the “Tiger London” A 45. The LA inspired car has Palace across the sides of the vehicle and a Palace logo on the hood too.

The cars are part of the “Affalterbach to the World” campaign which runs from March 21 to March 25, 2022.
