The MG Cyberster sports car was inspired by the classic convertible shape of the MGB and it will make its public debut at the Shanghai Auto Show later this month.

The MG Cyberster

The MG Cyberster is a 2-door electric sports car that launched globally on March 31. The car was developed by MG’s London-based Advanced Design Centre, in an attempt to celebrate MG’s iconic classic car while showcasing its plan for the future. The MG Cyberster is the second all-electronic sports car concept revealed by MG in the last few years. It is also the first open-top roadster built by MG after the TF.

According to Carl Gotham, the director of SAIC Design Advanced London, “The Cyberster is a bold statement that looks strongly into MG’s future, touching on our heritage, but more importantly building on our cutting edge technology and advanced design. He goes further to say, “Sports cars are the lifeblood of the MG DNA and Cyberster is a hugely exciting concept for us.”

Key Designs Of The MG Cyberster

The design of the MG Cyberster was first seen on Facebook last year, when the SAIC Design Advanced team teased the concept. The MG Cyberster has the “Digital Fibre” concept. It has a comfortable cabin with zero gravity sporty seats, which will make long drives more convenient. It also boasts an LED touchscreen that gives the interior an attractive look. Another key design in this vehicle is the “Magic Eye” feature embedded in the headlights, which opens when the car is turned on. The “magic eye” interactive headlights are layered independently from the grille.

The MG Cyberster’s steering wheel was built to ensure the driver has a smooth driving experience. The car has a slim grill on the front side and attractive headlights. The sides of the car are designed with laser belt LED strip that covers the door panel. The rear design of the MG Cyberster uses the “Kammback styling.” The flattened tail of the car can improve rear spoiler and bring better aerodynamic performance. The car’s taillight is also styled with LEDs which are integrated into the back of the car, projecting an image that showcases MG’s British heritage. The MG Cyberster is also equipped with a gaming cockpit.

The high-performance wheels further come with rotating spokes combined with a central locking mechanism, which is commonly found in extremely high-performance models. This vehicle also has a range of 800 kilometers, and it boasts 5G connection capabilities. It can also accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just three seconds.
