German cars tend to have a great reputation. Names such as BMW, Mercedes-Benz, or Porsche are usually synonymous with luxury, quality, and speed. Unlike French cars, German cars are perceived as the beacon of European ingenuity. Though it is true that German carmakers greatly benefited from the Nazi regime, their cars are now the best products to come out of Germany.

Porsche has produced some of the most insane German sports cars. Though some are mass-produced, others tend to be highly exclusive due to their price and limited production numbers. That being said, most Porsche cars tend to be fast. Really fast. Some of the fastest Porsches ever made may not be the best base for a project, but others truly are.

10 9 Seconds

The newer Porsche vehicles are simply mind-blowing. Even if they tend to be driven by people with poor driving skills, such as neuro-surgeons and hedge fund kids, they remain some of the best rear-engine cars made in Germany. Hardcore petrol heads may not be entirely satisfied with a bone stock Porsche though.

This is the sort of amazing modified Porsche 911s car fans would love to take for a spin. The standard 2015 Porsche 911 is not tame, thanks to 513 hp to the wheels, the car is one seriously fast two-door coupe. This particular Porsche 911 Turbo PP-Performance set a world record of 9.8 seconds down the quarter-mile and claims 662 hp to the wheels.

9 Lightweight

Truly iconic cars tend to attract a very special kind of tuners. For example, Ford and Shelby have had one of the longest tuner/manufacturer relationship. Mercedes-Benz is also known for having Brabus versions of its already magnificent vehicles. Porsche has also attracted its fair share of tuners over the years.

There are several reasons why gearheads would buy a Porsche 911. It is one of the most legendary cars to ever come out of Germany. This Porsche 911 reimagined by Singer and Williams is one of the best restomodded 911s out there. Based on a 1990 964 Series, this 911 shed 850 lbs and saw its output increased to 500 hp.

8 German Wheelie

When import cars pull up to the strip, gearheads often expect them to simply zoom down the quarter-mile. Unless these cars are displaying obvious signs of outrageous power, nothing truly exciting will happen. In the most recent years, car fans have seen that looks can be deceiving.

It is not common to see a Porsche 911 pop a major wheelie on the quarter-mile. Though the car seems to be bone stock, it is cranking out 1,100 hp. Impressive, to say the least. This is not your psychiatrist's 911. This is an American-made Porsche 911 that will scare some of the fastest street-legal muscle cars out there.

7 Super Cayenne

The Cayenne is Porsche's very first mass-produced SUV. Since 2002, the SUV has been captivating car aficionados, wealthy soccer moms, and sorority girls alike. For years, the Cayenne was the beacon of luxurious SUVs. Car manufacturers such as Bentley and Lamborghini realized they were missing out on some serious cash and hopped on the bandwagon.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is a beast. The SUV is fitted with a powerful twin-turbocharged and intercooled 4.8L V8 that develops 570 hp. TechArt built a Cayenne that can easily rival the swath of super SUVs now on the market. Claiming 740 hp at the crank, this Cayenne will scare some of the most respectable supercars.

6 Electric Feel

It all started with Al Gore. The earth is rapidly decaying because of human activity. Al Gore took an environmentalist stance for his political platform. Though his speeches fell on deaf ears back then, they are now being considered as some of the best marketing pitches ever. From McDonald's to H&M, companies have decided to adopt more sustainable ways of conducting business.

This 1977 Porsche 911 lives in the future. In the year 3020 to be exact. Back in 1977, the 911 was released with an air-cooled flat-six engine that produced 157 hp at 5,800 rpm. In the year 2021, the Porsche 911 is fitted with an all-electric engine that produces 563 electric hp, which is about 700 hp at the crank.

5 Track Ready

When the name Porsche pops up in a conversation, most people assume that they are talking about an extremely powerful and expensive car. However, just like every other carmaker, Porsche did make some mistakes over the years. The Boxster is one of the most hated Porsche cars made in the last 40 years.

If Porsche had designed the Boxster like this insane beast, the company would have attracted a much larger group of gearheads. This twin-turbocharged, center drive Boxster boasts 420 hp, which is a lot for a 2,500 lbs vehicle. Will Porsche even rethink its Boxster? Only time will tell.

4 Cayman Tooth

Despite having completely failed with Boxster, Porsche decided to take another shot by releasing the Cayman. The car is essentially a Boxster with a roof. Though it was far more successful than the Boxster, the Cayman is nowhere as impressive as a 959 or a GT2 RS.

With all that being said, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport is a very interesting car. At only 2910 lbs, the GT4 Clubsport is a very light little beast powered by an aluminum inline-six developing 425 hp at 7,500 rpm and 313 lb-ft of torque at 6,600 rpm. This MR version includes carbon fiber front and rear ends.

3 Grounded GT2

Highly exclusive Porsche cars such as the GT2 or the Carrera GT tend to cost an arm and a leg. In order to obtain a Porsche that was produced in very limited numbers, it is important to befriend the local bank manager or to own a company with a huge credit line. Only then you may be able to think about customizing the car.

This is the type of modified Porsche that produces a crazy amount of power. A standard 2002 Porsche 996 GT2 produces 456 hp at 5,700 rpm and 457 lb-ft of torque at 4,500 rpm. This GT2 is looking at 800 hp at crankshaft. The suspension system is a clear sign this GT2 can handle more than a straight line.

2 Exclusive Macan

The Macan is the Cayenne's younger sibling. The SUV is much smaller, but that does not mean that it is not packing a mean punch. Though the Macan has been more popular among female motorists, it is far from being similar to a Kia Sorento or a Ford Explorer. The Porsche SUV means serious business.

Mansory is known for tuning some of the most high-end German cars. The company has turned cars such as the C63 AMG coupe and this Macan Turbo into complete monsters. The Mansory package includes a power increase that unleashes the true potential of the turbocharged 3.6L V6. Now producing 464 hp and 479 lb-ft of torque, the Mansory Macan is not your average SUV.

When looking at a modified classic 911, the first names that usually come to mind are Rauh Welt Begriff, Singer, or Bisimoto. Bisimoto has built some of the most insane Porsches, and this particular 911 produces 820 hp at the tires and 618 lb-ft of torque. The interior is far from lacking in the sporty department. This 911 is a race car ready to be driven aggressively.
