If you have heard of Lawrence Stroll, you will know the man certainly has a dollar or two. Not content with owning the Mont-Tremblant circuit in Canada, and funding son Lance’s racing career, Stroll Sr. also co-owns the Aston Martin F1 Team and is a chairman of the Aston Martin car company. Going back to the Mont-Tremblant circuit though, Stroll has owned it since 2000 and it has undergone extensive work and renovation during that time. Now though, the circuit is up for sale and that sale might also include the Jim Russell Racing School.

The Circuit Has An Interesting History

The circuit opened back in 1964 and hosted two Canadian Grand Prix in 1968 and 1970,  as well as hosting IndyCar and ChampCar. Whileit hasn't hosted a Grand Prix since that 1970 race, the track has gone through some big changes. South African track designer Alan Wilson oversaw a track redesign not long after Stroll took over, and since then the track has been resurfaced, widened, and had new gravel traps and run-off areas added. The track itself is set along the banks of Devils River and is nestled neatly between La Quimet and Lac Mercier and is quite close to Mont-Tremblant Ski Resort as well.

A PDF sales brochure outlining the features and details of the circuit says that the deadline for bids for the circuit will be on April 15, and there are sure to be many interested buyers. Due to its location in the tourist hotspot of Quebec, there are plenty of other places to explore nearby. The Jim Russell Racing school that could also be included in the sale is renowned for offering professional teaching to aspiring racing drivers in Formula 2000 cars, so there is an added incentive for someone to put their hands in their pockets.

Short But Sweet Track Has Plenty Of Upgraded Facilities

The track itself is 4.27 km long and boasts 15 turns, plus a new timing tower that includes a pressroom that can accommodate up to 200 people. An improved medical facility is also located at the circuit that has been designed to meet FIA standards. Stroll deserves a lot of credit for turning the fortunes of the circuit around as it was in quite a run-down state when he acquired it. Hopefully, the new owners will be able to keep the track going as strongly as Stroll has done.
