Jerry Seinfeld is not just comedian extraordinaire, he’s also quite the money maker. And when celebrities earn millions, they spend millions as well, and the one thing that Seinfeld loves to spend on is Porsche and other expensive sports cars. And we are not talking just one or two or even three Porsches, we are talking many, many of them.

In fact, in 1999, just after Seinfeld ended, the man shelled out more than $1 million to buy a New York brownstone to convert it into a garage to keep his beloved Porsches safe. He keeps the details of his cars close to his heart though, although it is rumored he has staff on the same three-floor, 850 square-feet building, to keep his Porsches in impeccable order. He also sold 18 of them in 2016, for a whopping $22 million.

As an ode to Jerry Seinfeld’s Porsche passion, here go the ten coolest ones he has (or had) in his posh Porsche garage. Prepare to be blown away.

10 1970 Porsche 908/03: The Unlikely Winner

If it looks like a race car, it is a race car, right? Especially in the case of this Porsche 908/03 that bears chassis number 008 and was designed to compete in two World Sportscar Championship endurance races, the Targa Florio and the Nürburgring Nordschleife.

It won the Targa Florio, and despite the strange seating position, this was one very fast car even if it does not look it. A similar one, bearing chassis number 003 sold in 2017 at an RM Sotheby’s auction for more than $3.5 million. So it's not just a posh Porsche, it’s a pricey one as well.

9 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder: Hybrid Hypercar

Via Pinterest

The Porsche 918 Spyder has a fan in Jeremy Clarkson, among other celebrities. Considering its current more-than-a-million price tag, you have to be rich and famous to own one. Speaking about the car, it’s a mid-engined hybrid hypercar, so obviously Seinfeld had to have one.

Via Pinterest

The 4.6-liter V8 engine has two electric motors to back it up, altogether making more than 860 horsepower, and letting this beauty of a car fly 0-62 mph in 2.6 seconds. But where does Seinfeld want to get to in such a tearing hurry?

8 1958 Porsche 356A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster: The Icebox

Seinfeld is happy to give credit where it is due, and it's when he spotted the Speedster in a Hemmings magazine at Jay Leno’s place, that he got the idea of getting his own. And they did talk a lot of Porsche at each other’s show…

One of Seinfeld’s pride and joy is a 1958 Porsche Speedster that was just built for speed, period. Seinfeld sold this one in his 2016 auction but later was sued because the new owner found it to be "fake". Seinfeld in turn is suing the place where he bought it from, and the jury is still out on this one...

7 1986 Porsche 959: Street Illegal

Via Pinterest

The Porsche 959 came birthed from a 911, and it was the chief engineer Helmuth Bott who basically wanted to push the envelope so out, no one could ever push it back in again. Released in 1986, the Porsche 959 jetted 440 horses and zipped at unheard-of speeds of 197 mph.

It was banned on the roads of the United States and so Seinfeld decided to buy one, even if all he could was ogle it. Or sit in and pretend to win the Daytona. Whatever works for you, Jerry…

6 1949 Porsche 356/2 Gmünd: Unpronounceable Classic

Only 52 of these cars were ever made, although some say the number is 50. Either way, this was the very first production car from Porsche and came hand-built from an old sawmill-turned-factory in the small Austrian town of Gmünd.

Seinfeld owns chassis number 40 of this car. Interestingly, the cars were made using VW parts and were rear-engined and rear-wheel-drive. The price for something this rare is likely to be astronomical and it’s hard to believe that anyone who had one of these would part with it because less than 20 survive in the hands of private collectors.

5 1964 Porsche 911: First Ferry, Then Jerry

Via ClassicCarsTodayOnline

The Porsche that Jerry owns, was built for Ferry, as in Ferry Porsche, the son of Ferdinand Porsche, the man behind it all. It was the very first of the production 911s and had a custom-made sunroof, leather seats, and metallic exterior paint.

Seinfeld bought in 1996 for $400,000, imported it to the US, and then sent it back to Porsche in Zuffenhausen for a full, authentic restoration, spending another $250,000. The result not only worth it, it’s enough to make grown men weep.

4 2000 Porsche Carrera GT Prototype: The Car That Did Not Sell

Via Pinterest

The Carrera GT is now infamous because this was the car that Paul Walker and his friend, Roger Rodas died in that fiery crash in 2013, with Rodas behind the wheel. While Porsche faced a lawsuit for negligence and wrongful death, it was cleared of all charges, meaning the Carrera GT is one heck of a good car.

Seinfeld knows it, and although he failed to sell his GT prototype in the 2016 auction, he still values it in his Porsche house. This one is also one of only two functioning prototypes from 2000. Seinfeld owned the other one as well but sold it in 2011.

Seinfeld also owns one of the only 49 1973 Porsche 911 Carrera RSRs made, and it’s a pure racing car. To homologize it, FIA insisted 500 road-worthy ones had to be made. Porsche made more than 1500 911 Carrera RS and they looked as cool as the race car. Almost.

Seinfeld’s car was damaged in 2014 when he was parked at the Hamptons and a lady driving a BMW reversed into the car, scraping all that vintage metal. So sure, Seinfeld did get it fixed but for a Porsche lover, the sound of metal crunching is an awful one.

2 1966 Porsche 356 SC Cabriolet: Police, Hands In The Air…

Via Pinterest

In the ‘60s, ten Porsche 356 SC Cabriolets were made for the Dutch police, and the drivers were specifically chosen because of the nature of the high-speed pursuits. They had to be older than 25, married (why?) and had to have stellar driving skills.

Via Pinterest

And once the cars were decommissioned, Seinfeld managed to get one of them and even took it for a spin in his show, Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. Although, he did not arrest anyone. Pity, that…

1 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder: Another Killer Car

Via Pinterest

So this is the second car on this list that seems to have killed a celebrity. The Porsche 550 Spyder is the car James Dean crashed, fatally, and has been considered a bit macabre ever since. Only 75 of these were made, and even back then, it raced at top speeds of 140 mph, decimating all others cars on the race track.

Via Maxim

Seinfeld did sell this one in 2015 for a whopping $5.3 million and called it the “automotive equivalent of a sonnet by Shakespeare or a symphony by Beethoven”.
