The auto industry in the past year has not had the best of times. Quarantines and lockdowns have forced auto shows to be canceled, factories closed or reduced in capacity, and new car launches to be delayed. But that doesn’t mean the industry has been dead silent.

Coming into 2021 from 2020, a couple of amazing cars have been making petrolheads drool all over the internet. Yes, some of them were not 2020 or 2021 babies. They had been announced earlier but gotten out even better looking than we thought they would be. These beautiful machines have sprouted all across the industry, from German automakers to the Brits with their James Bond creations. And out of these, 8 are fitting to be the sexiest cars you should be wishing to drive in 2021.

8 Volvo V60

The Volvo V60 is the younger and smaller sibling of the beautifully styled Volvo V90. At first glance, the V60 looks like a scaled-down version of the V90. But that doesn’t make it look like a squashed giant in any way. Rather, Volvo gives this powerful wagon a modern and chic styling, something we’ve seen resurge in Volvo since they were sold to Geely in 2010.

They’ve tipped off the design with an amazing selection of colors, one of the sexiest being the Bursting blue metallic paint plus a $1615 exterior styling kit that adds more pizazz to the already beautiful car.

7 Porsche Taycan

We’ve had a long history of automakers producing ugly golf carts in the name of electric vehicles. We hoped that wouldn’t have been the case with the Porsche Taycan. Thankfully, the men and women who design the 911s thought differently.

The Porsche Taycan can easily pass as one of the sexiest looking, if not the sexiest looking electric car in the market. Plus, given it’s a luxury electric vehicle, it has a plush interior that beats the Model S to the floor. Interestingly, this four-door Porsche ended up looking better than the Panamera that cringed the faces of many petrolheads when it was launched.

6 Genesis G80

In the beginning, was this sexy mean machine. And it has been named the “Mercedes killing machine” because this Korean luxury sedan did not just disrupt the market with its out-of-this-world affordable pricing of $60,000. Rather, the G80 also made a name for itself with its impressive styling that has made the German powerhouse almost look like a joke.

It’s not just the exterior that is sexy and imposing at the same time. Genesis did a terrific job with the interior, the reason why as far as styling goes, the G80 almost leaves Mercedes and BMW in the dust.

5 Audi R8

Trust Audi to never get their design and interior wrong. And of all their models available, the Audi R8 is the car that you should take out for a spin. The refreshed Audi R8 has a new bodywork, far more striking and stylish than what we’ve seen in the previous years.

Yes, it looks quite familiar to what we’ve seen before. However, it is futuristic. The car looks cohesive up close, with clean lines and perfect proportions that make it stand out against other supercars.

4 Maserati MC20

This should be one of the most radical and striking designs ever produced by Maserati, in a line of impeccable cars that the company produces year in, year out. The MC20 is not just striking because it’s a Maserati. Rather, it is the company’s first supercar in over a decade.

The MC20 boasts of the usual supercar ingredients. A carbon-fiber monocoque, mid-engine, and a rampaging 90-degree V6 capable of 621hp on the dyno. Outside, the MC20 looks capable of these ridiculous numbers. The design speaks of a car more balanced with coke-bottle curves and less front overhang.

3 Aston Martin DBS Superleggera

Picking an ugly Aston Martin is a rather hard endeavor. Picking the sexiest of them all is even harder. But the Aston Martin DBS Superleggera ticks all boxes. It is not only the brand’s newest car but also a showcase of its current design language.

Despite being based on the menacing and sexy DB11, the DBS Superleggera has distinctly different styling, save for the roof. The shark-like grille going back to the squared-off rear and wide fenders give the Superleggera flawless proportions.

2 Lexus LC

This is the one concept car that everyone wanted to be built and Lexus did not disappoint. Back in 2012, the LC was nothing but a concept never intended for the production line. However, 4 years later, the LC made it to the production line with very little being scraped off the initial concept.

Fast forward to 2021, and this Japanese beauty looks sexier. The trademark hour-glass grille now synonymous with most Lexus, muscular rear fenders, and a “floating roof” make the LC look nothing short of stunning.

1 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio

This is not a Jeremy Clarkson-sponsored post. But the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is arguably one of the sexiest-looking sport sedans in the market. The trademark pointy shield-shaped grille combined with a long hood, perfect proportions, and a sexy cabin make the Giulia not only stand out from the rest but also make it a desirable car to be in.

The body details and surfacing are also exquisite, with the Quadrifoglio also coming with the option of an exposed carbon roof for $2,000.
