Electric propulsion is the future. The main reason we're seeing more EVs in people's driveways is the boom in exciting new models which have larger battery capacity for longer range, big power, and torque, resulting in lightning-quick acceleration. Unlike the underwhelming and uninteresting electric vehicles of a decade ago, EVs today rank among the most powerful models available.
Electric powertrains come configured with a single motor driving the rear wheels or two, three, or even four motors driving all four wheels. When it comes to the most powerful electric powertrains, supercars, large vehicles such as SUVs, sedans, and pickup trucks are at the front of the pack. Some 2022 electric cars boast nearly twice the horsepower that gas-powered hypercars such as the Aston Martin Valkyrie make. Amazing.
Providing maximum torque across the rev range, electric motors offer plenty of grunt, oomph, and torque. We rank the 10 most powerful EVS on the market right now.
