In fact, most American biker clubs have strict rules about the kind of motorcycles their members are allowed to ride and usually approve only of Harley-Davidson. However, if you happen to own one or you intend to purchase one, your local motorcycle club will most likely not approve of it.

It’s tempting to picture Tom Cruise on this bike and imagine how cool he would look. But you would be wrong. Despite donning a very impressive design, the Honda Rune is massively overpriced for a cruiser bike.

Over a decade ago, when this cruiser launched, it was priced at slightly over $26,000. The bike was marketed and showcased across America. Despite the hype that surrounded its launch and marketing, the Honda Rune was poorly received. Many were left in showrooms with little to no love from potential buyers. Eventually, thanks to the lackluster sales, the bike was axed.

Many bikers regard the 2017 Yamaha SCR950 as a scrambler. In reality, this bike was a mid-size cruiser underneath the skin. However, this bike had to live up to huge expectations given motorcycle club members don’t drive their bikes as a weekend hobby. It is their lifestyle.

Thus, living with a bike that is sorely uncomfortable and having to ride it on a daily is not something motorcycle club members would be willing to sign up for. That’s because the bike was poorly built. It has a thinly padded bench seat that is hard and unbearable to sit on over long distances.

8 Honda DN-01

The Honda DN-01 was in production from 2008 to 2010. However, despite being in the production line for two years, it was not a good seller. That’s because it was a terrible cruiser bike.

The main reason why people stayed away from this cruiser bike is that it was very uncomfortable. Thus, it was a bad choice for long rides, which oxymoronically is what the cruiser bike is built for. To add salt to injury, the Honda DN-01 did not have wind protection. That meant that things would get uncomfortable for the rider once he/she hits high speeds.

Victory motorcycles were built with a big vision (pun intended) to compete directly against Harley Davidson. However, they had one huge problem. Most Victory cruiser bikes were too heavy. Thus, they were very difficult to handle and could barely turn at a corner.

If you are a hardcore motorcycle club member, then the Honda C50 is a motorcycle you won’t want to touch. You cannot look cool wearing a leather jacket and cruising in L.A with this machinery. The Honda C50 is too underpowered and too simple to even feel like a proper motorcycle.

But that can be considered harsh judgment given that this motorcycle was launched in 1963. Yes, at the time, most enthusiasts would have commended it for being just what a motorcycle should be. But by today’s standards, it’s too timid and slow.

The Honda VF700C Magna is properly designed to be a cruiser bike. It packs a low seat, a fat rear tire, and high handlebars. These are things motorcycle club members love. So, why is this bike not on their buy list? Because it is marred with a ton of flaws.

The biggest scare when riding the Honda VF700C is the tendency of the rear brakes to lock up. This can put the rider’s life in danger. The seat and footpeg are also oddly placed which makes the rider feel cramped, something that you don’t want from a cruiser. Surprisingly, Harley had some input when this two-wheeler was being built.

Then, since it’s a chopper, you’re going to spend more customizing it to your liking. That seemed too expensive for a good number of bikers.
