Webster defines a motorcycle as an automotive vehicle with two inline wheels. The first gas motorcycle (according to thevintagenews.com) was accidentally invented in Germany in 1885 by two men by the names of Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach. Daimler and Maybach had fabricated a one-cylinder engine with the original intention to make a small car. After deciding to test the little motor on a bicycle, the "Reitwagen" (or "riding wagon") became the world's first motorcycle.Updated April 2022: Spring is upon us, and motorcycles will be flooding the roads once more. With the warm weather comes the desire for a new bike, but not everyone is made of money. We've updated this list to include even more incredible bikes across various segments available for just $10,000.The Reitwagen's 264cc engine, named a grandfather clock engine, made .5 horsepower at 600 rpm and reached a top speed of 7 mph. More than a decade later, we have made some vast improvements on the motorcycle and have figured out how to make it a bit faster than seven mph, reaching a top speed of 394 mph on two wheels, according to Guinness World Records. We've figured out how to make them run on just about anything; the Japanese even had a bike that ran on human waste. Gross. Here you will find 28 awesome motorcycles, but you can buy them brand new for less than $10,000, with options from the "Big Four" (Kawasaki, Yamaha, Suzuki & Honda) or handcrafted from some other notable brands.
