BMW is planning to unveil its promising all-electric i7 sedan in April, while at the same time revealing the entire new BMW 7 Series. The carmaker is already putting the final touches on the i7, which delivers unrestricted elegance, ride comfort and supremacy with the benefit of a purely electric drive offering a range of more than 372 miles.

BMW based the i7 on the same concept as all upcoming variants of the new BMW 7 Series.

Frank Weber, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG for Development, revealed that the all-electric i7 marries the best driving experience with the ultimate digital experience. BMW reinterpreted various distinctive design elements to give the i7 a modern appearance. These include the i7’s twin round headlights and BMW grille, particularly the upper light elements made of exclusive crystal glass, as well as the grille’s illuminated contour.

Most of the revealed features, however, are inside the new BMW i7, all contributing to the innovative user experience. BMW made this possible with the new My Modes and the latest generation of the iDrive operating system. My Modes allow the driver to precisely customize the sedan’s driving characteristics as well as interior ambience.

The interior features a new type of light and function strip on the instrument panel and the doors, providing a modern and exclusive visual and haptic quality. Part of this ambient lighting is the BMW Interaction Bar with integrated control buttons.

The interior also feels more spacious and modern thanks to the newly developed Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof that comes with individually adjustable LED light threads.
