The battle for supremacy on YouTube is always an interesting battle. Especially within the automotive YouTube world. Guys like Richard Rawlings and Gas Monkey Garage, Emelia Hartford, ThatDudeinBlue and the Hoonigan squad all have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of subscribers on their channel and the numbers are of course added daily to that. Some of these channels are some of the most subscribed to on the entirety of YouTube, and when it comes to YouTube giants, the biggest for a long time has been a certain Pewdiepie. At the time of writing, Pewdiepie has 111 million subscribers on his channel, if you view his main page. But he has now been soundly knocked off the top spot, thanks to MrBeast, kicking off the Swedish YouTuber from the top of the podium in the YouTube rankings. A feature from Supercar Blondie reported that with over 111 million subscribers, MrBeast has surpassed Pewdiepie and given fans of automobiles something else to cheer about.RELATED: This YouTuber Gets Some Unexpected Drama During A $2 Million-Hypercar Delivery

The Battle For YouTube Supremacy

MrBeast put out a tweet earlier in November stating that he opened up YouTube to see he had 11,111,111 subscribers. If that wasn’t freaky enough, he did this at 11:11 am and on November 11th, ie the 11th of the 11th. That is certainly one way to find out you are now YouTubes biggest star. MrBeast is what you might call a new-age celebrity, and his real name is of course Jimmy Donaldson. As you might expect, MrBeast celebrated this achievement in a very special day. He decided to go and buy 1,111 lottery tickets.

He then tweeted “something is telling me I’ll win” and with that many lottery tickets, there was a good chance that he would win something. MrBeast first shot to fame in 2017 when his “counting to 100,000” video went viral, and after he reached the 100,000,000 subscriber mark he gave away an actual island to his followers, this back in August 2022. To win the island, 100 of his followers competed in a set of challenges such as getting everyone to play “Red Light Green Light” from Netflix show Squid Game, probably one of the creepiest shows to emerge in the past year.

One Way To Make Him Happy

MrBeast has said in the past that making his videos on YouTube was probably the only thing that ever made him happy. He clearly doesn’t like to do things by halves either. Back in 2020, the YouTuber hit the huge number of 40 million subscribers. Not as many as 111 million but still huge. To celebrate this, he decided to do a special giveaway. Some YouTubers might decide to give away one very special car, or a couple. But not MrBeast. MrBeast decided to giveaway 40 cars. Yes, 40 cars.

He announced that via his Instagram account back when the milestone happened, and of course millions flocked to try and get their hands on one of these cars. Cars such as Teslas, a Porsche and a Chevrolet were all part of the giveaway. It was a truly sensational thing to do. MrBeast has also said that “I appreciate every single one of you that watches the videos. This is literally all I’ve ever done with my life” which he put out onto his Twitter account. It is easy to forget that if people didn’t watch his videos, he would not have had the success he did.

Taking On Pewdiepie And Winning

Pewdiepie of course rose to fame on YouTube with a lot of gaming content, and his real name is Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg. In 2019, he became the first individual on YouTube to hit 100 million subscribers and this followed him becoming the most followed individual creator on the platform back in 2013. To get to these milestones you certainly have to put in the hard work and graft, and it is clear that both of these guys have done just that to get to where they are today.

MrBeast has put plenty of videos on his channel, and pretty much all of them have several million views. For automotive fans, one of the best was the “Last To Take Hand Off Lamborghini, Keeps It” video from around a year ago which saw MrBeast obtain 113 million views for that particular video. That also saw a Camaro given away. It is hard for many of us to fathom just how big those numbers are, and we could only ever dream of big numbers like that if we as individuals were to get onto YouTube and create our own channels full of content.
