Since closing their doors earlier this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, things are finally starting to look up for many businesses deemed non-essential. One class of businesses hit very hard by these closures that are now eagerly trying to make steps toward reopening are businesses such as museums and art galleries. Among these museums finally able to reopen with restrictions is the Mullin Automotive Museum located in Oxnard, California. The museum features some of the most exquisite French classic cars remaining in the world. Many of these cars have been featured and even won the famed Concours d'Elegance.

Since temporarily closing its doors, the Mullin Automotive Museum has been quickly adjusting to still deliver a great experience for its fans by featuring many online tours and features such as their Docent Tours on their YouTube channel. And, as great as tours like these have been, automotive and history enthusiasts alike are still eager to physically go to museums such as the Mullin to get the full experience. In the press release issued today, the Mullin Museum detailed their plans to finally reopen Friday through Sundays, from 10am to 3pm starting on November 6th.

Specializing in some of the most elegant and important cars to come out of France, guests of the museum will get a chance to see cars from early 20th century Bugatti, Talbot-Lago, Hispano-Suiza, and many more. The Museum also features historically significant cars such as the unrestored collection of the Schlumpf family, and a 1925 Bugatti Type 22 Brescia Roadster that was recovered from Lake Maggiore.

As with everything else in 2020, the reopening will come with CDC approved restrictions such as requiring face coverings at all times, temperature checks upon entry, social distancing of at least six feet between groups, and prohibiting all purses and bags.

With Concours d’Elegance at Pebble Beach getting canceled this year, this will be one of the first chances for Americans to see beautiful coach-built cars like the ones the Mullin Museum has to offer up close and personal.

Museums such as these are important staples in the automotive community. They often feature cars most people have never even heard of no matter how big of an automotive enthusiast you are. For this reason, it sort of levels the playing field for museum goers, so to speak, as there is something new to learn and appreciate for everyone who attends.
