Ford drivers aren't worried as the NASCAR team transitions to the Mustang.

NASCAR car transitions can be a pain and it takes time for stabilization to occur As this was the case of Joe Gibbs after the introduction of the new Camry body style. This took three months to adjust to the ride and get back on track. Although the Camry has been around for some time, it is clear that the Chevrolet has still not perfected the transition from the Chevrolet SS to the Camaro.

However, Ford has stepped out and stated that they are not worried about their transition set for 2019. The switch from the Fusion to the Mustang does not seem to have them stressed at all, according to ESPN. After the unveiling of the 2019 Mustang on Thursday at the Ford Headquarters, it is clear that they did not leave anything to chance.

While they are confident, there only two things that may impact their successful performance, specifically if NASCAR decides to go for its radical drafting package for a couple of races next year. Yet, this is not as bad as some of their teams like Stewart Haas are already used to navigating through change easily. Another thing to keep in mind is if the teams will be able to maximize the Mustang's potential much quicker than other teams, then they do indeed stand a chance. This is something that Ford feels is key as the car is very important, but cannot be a success without a good team.

Ford has learned several lessons through some of their competitors' unsuccessful transition. This gives them the confidence boost they need during this critical transition. Ford has done a lot in preparation for this big move including changing of manufacturers. Let us hope that all this was necessary and that it will not have them crying foul next year.

Kevin Harvick, one of Ford's drivers, has had a quite impressive run this year with the Ford Fusion—where he's bagged six wins so far—is quite confident about the transition. Stating that he is 100 percent sure that it is going to be a success. This is attributed to Ford's amazing performance in 2017.

As Ford plans for this major move, they still have to put a lot of consideration to NASCAR's rules. This includes the standard requirements for body styles and downforce parameters. With all this said and done then for sure the transition will be smooth and successful.
