It's undeniable players in the National Basketball Association are some of the highest paid athletes in the sports world. Thus, it wouldn't be surprising if they own some of the sickest sports cars in the planet. Even LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers was seen driving a Porsche 918 Spyder. But for Philadelphia 76ers star Ben Simmons, a Ford Shelby F-150 Super Snake is his drive of choice.

A Millionaire NBA Player Hunting Cars

Apparently, Ben has a good taste for cars. His regular drive is a Rolls-Royce Cullinan, with a shiny black exterior, dark Forgiato wheels, and white seats reveal his taste and preference. A bespoke luxurious yet still sporty SUV, the Cullinan was Ben's gift to himself in 2019. Ben, of course, can afford such drives.

In 2019, Ben signed a contract with the 76ers worth around $177 million spread through five years. For the 2020-201 season, Ben will earn a base salary of $30.6 million. With such amount of money in his accounts, Ben is likely to splurge on something that makes him happy, and automotive seems to be one of these things. At $340,000, a Cullinan is an affordable drive for Ben.

A New Drive: Ford Shelby F-150 Super Snake

A Ford Shelby F-150 Super Snake, meanwhile, is priced around a third of the price of the Cullinan at around $100,000 – even when all options are ticked – but would be larger. It should be large enough to fit a man as large as Ben (he is 6' 11"). Ben definitely can afford to buy an F-150 Super Snake, so there's no reason why he shouldn't.

There are some similarities with Ben's Cullinan and his new F-150 Super Snake. First, both have exteriors finished in glossy black, although the F-150 Super Snake feature red signature stripes and some red accents. In addition, their wheels are both in black too. The interior of the F-150 Super Snake hasn't been revealed, so we can't make comparisons.

Ben Simmons Is A Car Guy

As Ben posted on his Instagram, his F-150 Super Snake is the superior version delivering around 775 hp of output, thanks to its 5.0-liter V8 engine with a Whipple blower, custom exhaust and more.

Ben is definitely a car guy, as his Instagram posts showed some interesting drives including a Rolls-Royce Wraith, Ferrari 488 Pista and 488 Spider, as well as Lamborghini Urus.
