The Need for Speed series of games is one of the most well-known and most loved in the racing game world. The latest game is very soon hitting our virtual shelves, with Need for Speed Unbound the latest release in the iconic game series. However, there has been a bit of criticism from people recently about the lack of customization in the game, a lack of certain cars, and a few other things thrown the way of the game.

Well, it looks like developers EA are hoping to answer those critics right now. They have announced via the social channels for the game that some more rides are coming to the game, and while they have not revealed everything coming or the full details, the teaser video shown gives us some idea as to what we might expect. It sounds like a lot more customization is also coming, with new wheel designs and new decals plus some “legendary customs”, to compliment what is already quite a large list of cars. The cars shown off certainly look quite crazy.

Trailer Shows Classics From BMW And Land Rover

The headline grabbers from the trailer shown off are two of the cars that feature in it. We have the BMW M1 and the classic Land Rover Defender as the stars of this little teaser, in a couple of forms. The M1 starts off in its standard form before being radically transformed into a crazy, custom ride with a huge front splitter and rear wing and a radical rear wing that looks almost out of place on the BMW classic. This is one of those legendary customs that EA is referring to in the trailer.

The second car shown off is the Land Rover Defender, but an older model, not the latest Defender. It again starts off in its regular form before getting customized wildly. The roof is gone, and the Defender now sits much lower to the ground. A sculpted hood reveals a huge blower poking out in the middle and the back end shows a crazy exhaust setup and a low-sitting rear wing as well. In the video teaser, both cars also get wild paint schemes with the M1 in a white and green livery and the Defender in an outlandish purple-based color scheme.

A Ton Of Customization Extras Are On The Way

The trailer also features a few more cars as well. We get a look at some other vehicles in the game but let's focus more on the other things that the social media post announces. For a starter, there are the new rims, shown on a variety of cars and in a variety of designs. These range from ones that look like the top of a pizza to ones with more traditional, patterned designs. It looks like there are rims to fit virtually all of our needs and wants in the game.

Decals are of course another major part of the customization within the Need for Speed Unbound universe, and EA is showing off a few more decals and the process of adding them to a car in the game. We get to see a Toyota Supra get a ton of wild, Japanese anime-style decals applied to it before it gets an equally bright and vivid paint scheme to become a bit of a poster car for Japan in the game. A couple of sneak previews reveal other cars such as a pickup truck on which we can also create some wild designs on.

Plenty Of Colors For Us To Choose From

EA is clearly trying to sell the customization side of the game in a big way in this trailer. We get a look at some panel deletes that the game will feature, showcased on a classic Nissan GT-R Skyline as well as a Subaru BRZ. Some designs are crazy, taking classic shapes and adding all sorts of patterns, lines, and color mixes onto the panels. If you are a fan of crazy customization then it looks like you will love Need for Speed Unbound.

Also at the time of writing, there are 143 cars on offer in the game, but this latest teaser from EA would suggest that more may well be on the way which will certainly get a lot of us very excited. Like previous games, wild street racing challenges await us, and judging by the screenshots and the videos we have seen so far, the game will look absolutely incredible.
