Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson can't drive certain sports cars simply because he won't fit into them. Therefore, Johnson has some preferences when it comes to his vehicle collection. Shaquille O'Neal has the same problem, which is why he had his drives modified. Just recently, The Rock had trouble fitting into another car, only this time it ended up bringing a film production to a screeching halt. How did he get into a tight situation?
The Rock’s Post From The Set Of Red Notice
Johnson is playing a starring role in a new Netflix film Red Notice. The movie, which has a budget of around $188 million, is currently slated for release in 2021. The Rock plays an Interpol agent who's considered the world's greatest tracker. He is tasked with tracking down the world's greatest thief, a role played by Gal Gadot.
The film features a “big chase sequence” that took months to prepare and entailed high production costs. After all, producers had to buy a Porsche Taycan EV and had it shipped to the film location at the famed Castel Sant’Angelo, in Rome, Italy. But a red flag was coming.
Too Big To Fit Into The Taycan Turbo S
As depicted in Johnson's Instagram post, writer and producer Rawson Marshall Thurber (the person seen in front of the EV) told The Rock to get into the Taycan to line up a shot. Johnson tried to hop into the Porsche, but got stuck simply because his back “is a bit too wide.” At 6'5" with a wide muscular body, the Rock was too big for the Taycan.
Once everybody realized what happened, they fell into 15 seconds of silence before laughing at the situation. Months of preparations and the costs of a Taycan alone would be good reasons not to cancel the scene. So, the producer and the crew got creative, managing to get the shot they needed.
Not The First Time Johnson Wouldn't Fit
This isn't the first time that Johnson failed to get into a car. Around five years ago, he was part of the TV series "Ballers" and had the opportunity to meet a LaFerrari and a GTA Spano. While he wanted to get in, he was just too big.
