Acura is the luxury and high-performance division of Honda and in 2021, Acura announced that the Integra name would be returning to its lineup. A few months ago, the company then revealed the prototype Integra in its striking yellow color, heralding the return of the nameplate for the 2023 model year. Now, Acura have finally launched the Integra in full and revealed specific details on what will be under the hood, talked more about the car's exterior design and revealed details about the new car's interior and some of the equipment that will come with the car.

A VTEC Enhanced Turbo Engine

Under the hood of the Integra, Acura have finally revealed full details on the car's engine. The aluminum hood hides a VTEC-enhanced DOHC 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that Acura say will produce 200 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque. A new coil type exhaust system should add an emotional exhaust sound to the car and further enhance the driving experience. The standard transmission as was hinted at recently is the CVT automatic transmission, while a six-speed manual transmission will be available only on exclusive segments. Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are also included as standard with the new Integra.

It is certainly arguable that the new Integra does not go far enough when it comes to its exterior design. However, what Acura has produced is still an elegant looking car. Acura says it integrates the same sporty and compact proportions that the original five-door model of 1986 had. Details include the sophisticated front fascia with the frameless Acura Diamond Pentagon Grille, and the A-Spec Sport Package adds gloss-black window surrounds, a lip spoiler, A-Spec badges on the front fenders and tailgate plus Shark Gray 18-inch alloy wheels. The Integra also has low and thin A-pillars and a low cowl, which hopefully creates great outward visibility.

Acura says the new Integra has a sporty and personal interior. The climate control vents have the same diamond mesh pattern as the grille, while heated seats which are also powered offer a nice level of luxury. These are standard on the new car. The A-Spec package adds stainless-steel pedals, red gauge needles and more. Technology wise, the car has Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a 10.2-inch Acura Precision Cockpit gauge cluster and multiple display modes on its seven-inch digital touchscreen. The car will get produced at Acura’s manufacturing plant in Marysville, Ohio, alongside the Acura TLX, and the first five customers will have the chance to claim a limited edition NFT with the car.
