We have it from the horse’s mouth. Tim Kuniskis, Dodge brand Chief Executive Officer – Stellantis, recently set the tongues wagging with an eclectic “It’s going to be an electric summer for Dodge.”

The grapevine is now abuzz with rumors of a Dodge EV, but the actual news is likely to drop at the upcoming Dodge Speed Week on Woodward Avenue, Detroit, in August. Till then, we can only dream, anticipate and sit tight.

Between August 12-20, 2022, Dodge will host the multi-day Dodge Speed Week event on Woodward Avenue. Dodge says it will “pack enough news to fill an entire calendar year into one week." They will let the world know the new directions that Dodge, as a brand and a carmaker, is heading toward. The news is exciting on multi-levels. The consumers look forward to the new and improved cars, while the dealers look forward to making monies. It’s also a good time for the automotive industry, on the whole, to see what benchmarks and tech Dodge will achieve.

Kuniskis also said that Woodward Avenue is the perfect place to unveil the new plans of Dodge, considering it is Detroit, home of the Big Three. Without actually letting anything filter through, he said, “All I can say is the future of our brand will be on display during Dodge Speed Week, and we’re throwing open our garage doors so our fans can get a peek for themselves. It’s going to be an electric summer for Dodge.”

Dodge’s “Electric Summer” Might Be A New EV Muscle

The world “electric” has electrified the industry. Rumor says the Dodge EV will also debut at the Dodge Speed Week. The EV news is likely to drop during three days of the event, where Dodge will tackle current muscle, gateway muscle, and future muscle announcements from August 15 to 17, 2022.

Last summer, Dodge promised its fans a new electric muscle car. At the time, they also showed snippets of a new EV with some tongue-in-cheek humor as to why this MOPAR muscle carmaker would ever launch an electric car.

As Dodge explained, “performance made us do it". Now, the time may be nigh for Dodge to take the covers off its very first EV, but would the first Dodge EV be a Challenger or a Charger? What do you think?
