While the McLaren F1 often tops the list in a convo of ultimate supercars, the McLaren F1's successor – Gordon Murray’s T.50 Hypercar – is an absolute mindblower!

It is touted that the T.50’s designer, Gordon Murray “rewrites the supercar rulebook” with industry-leading standards incorporated into the development of the hypercar, and with what we’ve seen so far, fans will not be disappointed.

From performance to price, from aesthetic to exclusivity, the innovation behind the McLaren F1-inspired T.50 meets all core elements and definition of a hypercar – considered only 1 percent of supercar production, according to Howards Motor Group.

With the new T.50’s details released and the T.50 XP2 prototype’s first track test completed earlier this year, we’re well on our way to soon seeing the launch of full production.

Dubbed an engineering work of art, every detail of the T.50 is unsurpassed. But don’t take our word for it, judge for yourself. Here’s everything you need to know about the T.50 Hypercar.

The original McLaren F1 boasted the title of the fastest car in the world when it was new thanks to its 231 mph top speed, the T.50 follows in its tracks. The estimated top speed of the T.50 is a staggering 220 mph. The 0-60 time is expected to be 2.7 seconds.

The T.50’s 3.9-liter V12 engine was designed exclusively by Cosworth Powertrain for Gordon Murray Automotive. The aluminum block and heads help keep the Cosworth engine's total weight under 400 pounds.

Naturally-aspirated, the Cosworth engine makes 650 HP. As the highest-revving road car engine with no flywheel and lightweight clutch, this V12 redlines at a screaming 12,100 rpm. This is higher than a Formula One car!

Gordon Murray Automotive describes the T.50 layout as mid-engine, rear-wheel drive with the famed central driving position. What does that mean for the fortunate one with their hands on the wheel and their foot on the pedal? It means driver front and center.

The three-seater design comes directly from Murray’s McLaren F1 inspiration to recreate the Formula One tech to a streetcar. “I wanted the driver to feel special and sitting in the middle was synonymous with Formula One,” explained Murray in an interview on 25 years after the McLaren F1.
