The Oxford English Dictionary defines a utopia more or less as: 'an imaginary place or state in which everything is perfect'.

For Italian-based car manufacturer, Pagani, their latest V12-laden supercar is the embodiment of Eden — and HotCars have the spy shots courtesy of Varryx and his YouTube channel to prove it.

As Pagani's third iteration in three decades, the Utopia serves as the successor to Pagani's most globally acclaimed car to date, the Huayra - but while their competitors in the supercar market look towards the future in automotive technology, the Utopia is an ode to the golden-age of autonomous sports cars, while maintaining a timeless design

For the first time since Pagani announced its arrival on September 22, 2022, we get a glimpse into how it looks in the flesh on the road.

Check out Varryx's video below and the awesome photos which are exclusive to HotCars.

A Premium Italian V12 Hypercar: Utopia

Although we don't get to hear the roar of a Mercedes-Benz V12 engine ripping through Italian back roads, we do get to see the first Utopia without its camouflage wrap — and the results are impeccable.

Known for its extreme attention to detail, the Utopia features all-new design cues that still give consumers a shape that distinctively says, "Pagani."

As stated on their website, every Pagani Italian supercar begins with "Aesthetic shock," while still radiating simplicity.

A more curvaceous shape than the sharp-edged Huayra, its soft flowing lines breathe new life into the Pagani heritage without straying too far from its original principles.

Unlike its supercar counterparts, Pagani elected to forgo aerodynamic add-ons like spoilers and body kits in favor of designing an aerodynamic shape to achieve greater downforce and lower drag through its svelte frame.

Drawing inspiration from the streamlined designs of classic Vespa scooters or Riva speedboats, according to their website, the Utopia's styling details are nothing short of perfection.

Delivering over 864 horsepower and a monstrous 811 lb-ft of torque, the Mercedes-AMG V12 found nestled behind the driver not only revs higher, but it also meets the emission regulation of the most stringent regions — including California.

Continuing it its purist vibe, Pagani also decided to ditch the highly sophisticated dual-clutch transmission in favor of a seven-speed manual gearbox capable of automatic shifting, developed by Xtrac.

When questioned on their decision to use a manual gearbox, Pagani's explanation was "however intelligent automatic transmissions may have become, nothing can replace the driver’s own mastery of the gear changes."

Something all of us gearheads can appreciate, regardless if we'll get to ever shift a Pagani transmission or not.
