Usually, race cars aren’t allowed on the road. This is mainly because their specs and features aren’t suitable for road driving. But if you’re craving for a road-legal ultimate race car, world championship winners JRM has something special for you – the new JRM GT23.

Racing Expertise Put To Use

An engineering company based in the United Kingdom, JRM boasts a 10 year-long history of being a partner with Nissan. In fact, the company builds the race-dominant Nissan GT-R Nismo GT1 for the Japanese carmaker. Now, JRM is taking that experience and expertise to another level by creating a version of the GT-R Nismo GT1 that is suitable for road use.

Using the GT-R Nismo GT1 as a starting point, JRM overhauled the race car’s major systems such as its suspension. JRM also made changes to the position of the car’s engine and its transmission. This allowed the company to change its weight, distribution and inertia, resulting in a road-legal car that can offer a race experience.

Aside from the aforementioned changes, the new JRM GT23 is provided with a full aero package. It features a massive rear wing and a center-exit exhaust. Its vantage point has been revised, so it looks different up front compared to the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT1.

Race Car Power For The Road

Interestingly, the JRM GT23 still dons the same engine as the Nissan GT-R Nismo GT1, although positioned differently. Power output of the 3.8-liter VR38DETT engine remains a whooping 650 hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed sequential gearbox and transaxle.

Such dynamism is matched by ample stopping power courtesy of a 6-piston caliper and ventilated disc brake pads on the front as well as a 4-piston caliper and ventilated disc brake pads on the rear. Double wishbone suspension setups are found on both the front and rear axles of the JRM GT3.

Limited Run Of 23 Examples

JRM is offering eight exterior finishes for the new GT23: Carbon Black, Vibrant White, Rose Red, Golden Yellow, Bright Racing Green, Sunset Orange, Platinum Gret and Victory Blue. Inside, the JRM GT23 offers a driving environment similar to the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT1. The steering wheel, controls and even the seats makes the GT23 looks set up for a race.

Only 23 examples of the new JRM GT23 will be built, with each chassis individually numbered. JRM is already accepting pre-orders for the new GT23, and will commence production of the road-legal race car in Spring 2020. Each example is priced at around $500,000 (£380,000).
