Matt Watson and CarWow are famous for their drag races involving ultra-high-performance cars. Some of them involve the very best cars in the business, and this race that we have here for you is no exception to that rule. Watson has brought together a Nissan Nismo GT-R, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ and a BMW M5 CS in a very high power, high-performance race between three of the very best cars from their respective manufacturers.

The Three Mighty Cars Compared

Let's look at the three cars. The BMW M5 CS has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that produces 635 hp. The Nissan GT-R, driven by Yianni of Yiannimize has a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine under that hood that produces 600 hp. The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, driven by Mark McCann, has a mighty 6.5-liter V12 under the hood, with 770 hp, meaning it very much has the most power. It’s a wet day, and in the first drag race Yianni massively bogs down in the GT-R while the Aventador just leaves the BMW trailing in its wake for an easy win. It turns out the GT-R was in manual mode — not ideal.

The Sports Cars Continue To Race

The second drag race sees the GT-R and BMW make much better starts, but once the Lamborghini gets its power down, it is able to really close in on the BMW. Incredibly, the BMW did very nearly beat the Aventador, which, given the difference in horsepower, isn’t something that you might expect.

The trio line up for a third drag race, and it's close between the BMW and the GT-R, but the Aventador is once again able to put the power down and pull ahead.

Rolling Race And Brake Test Makes It Interesting

Next up is a rolling race with the cars in comfort mode from 50 mph and in automatic gear mode. And it is, amazingly, the BMW that gets a jump on the GT-R and the Aventador, a great win for Watson in the M5 CS.

The next rolling race sees the cars in manual mode and in sport settings, but it is the Aventador that this time takes the lead to strike back against the German car.

Finally, it is the braking test, and it's quite interesting in the wet. All three struggle to stop in the wet conditions, but the BMW won, ahead of the GT-R and the Aventador.
