Pickup trucks have the perfect balance of being daily driver vehicles and work trucks if you want to do any hauling. Since 1956 when Nissan shipped its first Datsun trucks to Europe it has done its best to keep up with the top pickup truck manufacturers in the world.

Over the years Nissan has rolled out some amazing trucks. The company has, however, had its fair share of bad luck when it comes to building pickup trucks. One of their most popular trucks on the market today is the Nissan Titan XD. The Titan XD made its debut in late 2003 and has been in production ever since. The XD is currently in its second generation and by the looks of things, this ride will be in production for a couple of more years to come.

This full-size pickup truck is manufactured in the United States and it is part of the Titan lineup. The newest addition to the Titan lineup is the 2022 Nissan Titan XD. If you are looking to add a new truck to your collection or if you are looking for an affordable truck then read on.

Let's break down everything we know about the 2022 Nissan Titan XD.

What Is New?

Being in its second generation means that although Nissan might want to release a brand-new truck, they have to build on what they have. As such they are working tirelessly to make sure that the 2022 Nissan Titan XD has the best features to go up against its competitors before working on a successor.

Another reason Nissan is working overtime to upgrade this truck is to get it back on the fast track to popularity after losing its place. Among the things that have been changed or upgraded include the design and interior.

The External Design

The 2022 Nissan Titan XD is what is considered a rollover model. This translates to a vehicle whose basic features remain as natural as possible with a touch of glitz and glamour for the upgrades. For this truck, Nissan went with a simple facelift that gave the XD a new and refreshed look.

The grille on the XD was made bigger and brighter with chrome finishing. The mirrors, door handles, tailpipes, side sills, and the new age 20-inch alloy wheel added to the upgrades made on this truck. Nissan now offers two color options for drivers who will get the Platinum Reserve trim. The interior will also be different depending on the trim.

If you are looking for a wild-looking truck then your best shot is to go for the 2022 Nissan Titan XD Pro-4X trim. This trim features a dark grille, red accents on the tow hooks, and the Nissan lettering. It also comes with special graphics and all-black door handles. The black 18-inch alloy wheels are built to dominate any off-road terrain.

Interior

While this truck is built to be a working vehicle, it can be used as a family vehicle as well. The cabin in the 2022 Nissan Titan XD features zero-gravity front seats, beautiful upholstery, a well-laid-out dashboard panel, and enough legroom for five adults.

Other features in this truck include a standard 8.0-inch touchscreen that comes with the option of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. At the top, this truck comes with an additional 9.0-inch unit. Both the 8.0-inch unit and the 9.0-inch unit are fitted with the Latest NissanConnect software. This allows all tech operations to be seamless. The audio system in this truck is a powerful Fender system.

Engine And Performance

With the upgraded interior and exterior Nissan did not deem it necessary to have any changes made when it comes to the 2022 Nissan Titan XD’s powertrain. There are two engine options for this 2022 truck.

The first option is a 5.6-liter V8 engine that has a maximum power output capacity of 400 horsepower and 413 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. Combined they push power to the four-wheel-drive drivetrain.

The second engine option for this truck is the 5.0-liter turbodiesel engine that was used in the 2021 XD. this engine is expected to push 330 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque.

Release Date and Price Tag

The 2022 Nissan Titan XD has clearly received a lot of upgrades and touch-ups, but it seems that Nissan still has some work to do. Many Nissan enthusiasts and critics are hoping that the remaining work does not push this pickup truck’s release date any further. This truck is set to roll out in late 2021 or early 2022.

Built on the fundamentals of an affordable truck the 2022 Nissan Titan XD is not expected to bear a pricey price tag. It is estimated that this truck will cost roughly $38,000 for the base model and that the top-tier trim will cost less than $50,000.
